Spooney Back By September?

Featured Replies

According to Craig Minervini, Tim Spooneybarger is scheduled to start throwing again on August 3rd, and will reportedly throw live batting practice on August 30th, making it possible for Spooney to come back in September.

if all go smoothly, then yes.

Spooney would be a great addition to our bullpen. He wont be gain his control till later though especially him who's a reliever.

Better not to push him this late in the season. Hopefully we will be in a critical stretch.....so unless he can come in and dominate he could end up just being a liability.

At this point I think he is more important for the future than this year, but like PB said if he could dominate I wouldn't complain about him coming back

If we are still in the race and we get spooney and fox back (assuming theyre at least pitching at 90%) that will be the best acquisitions our team will get this year b/c it will change the face of our weakest area...the bullpen

I agree. Imagine how our bullpen would look with Koch doing good, Bump, Howard, Fox, Spponey and Benitez. thats crazy. Im really looking forward to seeing all this guys play to their potential and be healthy. :thumbup
