July 27, 200422 yr Bach, Beethoven & Baseball - 7/23 - This is not a joke. If DC gets a baseball team, DCRTV hears there have been discussions at Bonneville about a "radical move" which would put baseball on Classical 103.5, WGMS, and bill it as "Bach, Beethoven and baseball." It would be heavily promoted on co-owned all-news WTOP and hot adult contemporary Z104. Joel Oxley runs all three of Bonneville's DC stations..... http://www.dcrtv.net/
July 27, 200422 yr might be crazy enough to work id rather listen to classical than goldberg on 560, for sure

July 28, 200422 yr A lot of AM stations have directional attenaes which are not well suited for metropolitan areas. I find it odd because the evening rush hour lasts until 7 in the DC area. I wonder how they plan on accommodating their current listeners.

WMAL won't carry the games, so FM may be the way to go in Washington. Redskins are on WJFK-FM and the O's, Caps, and Wiz are on WTEM-AM. WGMS has a good signal and should cover Washington fine. The network would have affiliates anyway, so an FM is fine. WTEM has the O's radio contract and may not be happy picking up the new DC team with Clear Channel handling the O's Radio network. WTEM is also very crowded and baseball would require a large commitment.
