Interesting....Encarnacion must be one HELLUVA player....

 

we've traded 2 pitchers who've been the all-time wins leader for the Marlins..

 

1) Ryan Dempster

2) Brad Penny

we did not trade penny for JUST encarnacion, so i dont see your point. and dumpster was garbage.

 

carny will probablly gone anyway. no worries.

the point is that it's interesting (hence the word "interesting" to begin my post) that the #1 and #2 all-time winningest pitchers for the Marlins were both traded for Encarnacion.

 

Of course Encarnacion wasn't traded straight up for Penny...

And Dempster wasnt dealt Straight up for Encarnacion..

 

We still got Wilton Guerrero (who was sent to Montreal in the Floyd deal)

 

and Ryan Snare (sent to Texas for Uggy)

 

.. but yeah i see your point furman.. it is interesting..

Enc's defense is good. His bat is questionable, but the glove is good, Cabs was getting it done in RF...so we bring back the RF that we had last year. LA payed alot of his salary and signed him. I really don't see it so bad with Enc as you guys make it out to be.

the damn point is that it's INTERESTING. We have 5000 threads bashing Enc (which I love to do right now)..

does anyone know exactly how much LA picked up off enc's salary and if they picked up any off la duca or mota's?

I haven't seen any info on the amount of cash in the deal.

 

But adding Enc to RF will be a big defensive upgrade. Last night Cabrera let a ball roll to the wall that Enc would have easily caught on the fly. I attributed the 2 runs in the first inning to Cabrera's lack of range.

I read in an article that we did indeed get cash in the deal too.
