August 2, 200422 yr we don't follow daylight savings time ... 489680 yup, same with Indiana 489699 is there a reason why? 489711 I remember reading the reason Arizona doesn't follow daylight savings time is that it's got something to do with the Navaho indians there, not sure what specifically though.
August 2, 200422 yr FWIW, temps drop like a stone in the high desert when the sun goes down. Sometimes AZ opens the roof during night games. It can be 100 in the day and damn chilly at night. 489737 not in Phoenix it doesn't ... we have enough concrete and urban stuff going on we lock in the heat and it radiates all night long ... right now it's 10:42 and if I go by MSN then it's 103 out, by weatherbug it's 96 ... overnight lows during the summer are about 85 also it is our monsoon season right now .. that means we have more heat and humidity as the winds swing off the gulf ... this can lead to some amazing dust and thunder storms ... if a monsoon is threating throughout the day they'll close the roof also we have been having an energy crunch recently ... even if they do shut the roof the stadium will be kept at 82 degrees, instead of the normal 78 in AZ there is really no need to "save daylight" ... we get sun about everyday and for most of the day ... daylight savings came by in WW2 and the main point is to save energy ... if you get more daylight while at home, you don't spend as much on lighting, heating, et al not sure why AZ didn't do it when communities were able to choose ... if I had to guess they probably didn't like the idea of it coming down from the federal side and the conformity of it (remember, this was at the same time when AZ didn't recognize MLK day)
