a hurricane MIGHT be in the s. florida area by friday or saturday!!! :o

*scared*

*shits pants*

*kinda happy*

It doesn't look like it'll be too strong. After living through Andrew these smaller storms don't stress me out too much.

any hurricane force winds should scare the s*** out of you.

ehh i'm not scared....yet anyways

they always hype this up and it always turns out taking some crazy turn or something

we'll see what happens

From the National Hurricane Center:

11 PM AST POSITION...16.0 N... 72.8 W.

MOVEMENT TOWARD...WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 25 MPH.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS... 65 MPH.MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE... 999 MB.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 105 MILES

...165 KM MAINLY TO THE NORTH OF THE CENTER.

AND CHARLEY COULD BECOME A HURRICANE AS IT APPROACHES JAMAICA

TOMORROW.

well they are expecting it to take that "crazy turn" toward the lower keys. they need to hype it up to so they can say "we told you so". something that only a couple people said during andrew. you have the same set of mind like people had before andrew.

But the eye is the calmest part

the forecast track from the 11 pm advisory has shifted more to miami's direction then the 5 pm advisory. so it means they expect the curve to be sharper than expected. the 5am advisory will be very intersting.

5pm advisory

11pm

notice the cone moves more to the right in the 11 pm ad. it will be intersting to see the 5am if they kove the cone more towards miami.

Hurricanes are so overrated.

Hurricane watch issued for the lower Keys.

Inside the eye, it is calm. But the "eye wall" that surrounds this area of calm is the nastiest part of the hurricane.

I agree with Maxx. After living through Andrew, all these p***y storms don't scare me.

Bring it on! :mad :

why would i be scared?

both of these wannabe storms are slow as hell, and they'll continue to be slow as hell when they hit the panhandle/west coast.

on the contrary, i've got rain to look forward to (i love rain), and i might go surfing if these storms manage to have any effect on the atlantic coast.

Category 1 is nothing. I say we protest the home depot/publix scam to create hurricanes to increase sales and stay outside during the hurricane!!!!!! :shifty

:killthemall

Hurricane 1 isn't much, unless you live in a place that gets flooded easily. But there is always the chance it picks up speed and swerves towards the city and turns into a mini Andrew.

Good idea by the Marlins to change gametime tomorrow.

Stay safe. I have Doom3, a PS2, and tons of drinks, fruit and doritos ready.

LMAO! :D :cool

A little rain, a little bit of wind...what's the problem here?

All I can say is it's a good thing I have a mini-dish and got to avoid watching the local media's overkill coverage on the storm.

i know a girl who's on her yacht in the Bahamas currently...hmm

I talked to her yesterday...she said they had some rain and some big waves when they got back to the States....but she's alright. They're back in Dallas.
