I don't think is way better than last year.Kiss good bye to your deep passes if you do decide to buy '05.

 

The game is somewhat more challenging now that defense reacts better and NFL draft is way better now.

i rented it and played it all last week. i had to turn it in yesterday and i feel like im going through madden withdrawal.

is the gameplay and franchise options that much different than 04?

I am a Madden diehard who rented ESPN and sadly I may be staying with ESPN...It's graphics and gameplay are amazing. I may have to rent Madden and decide.

i wouldnt know because i havent played madden since the '01 version. all i know is that i love this version. i didnt have time to buy it today though. im also trying to figure out whether to buy madden or ncaa football this week. rented both, and love both.

I keep finding myself buying the next version of Madden every year... I am now stuck with 2001, 2003, and 2004.... You think if I went to GameStop, I could turn them in and receive like $20 off 05?

EB or Gamestop won't give you barely anything for old sports games. They might not even take some of those and the ones they do you will get very little.

 

Check out Tradestop.com. For Madden 2003 they are giving like 3 bucks. Anything older and it just says overstocked.

Seeing no improvement over last year but all the sudden you can't throw your bulls*** long balls???? The improvement is defense!! The AI actually works this year. You can't just throw it long and score, it's now real football. Online games are now like 21-14 instead of friggin 65-62. You have to actually hit the open receiver, get it to the guy in single coverage. On running, you actually have to wait to use the speed burst until you hit the hole, and actually have to follow your blockers. The incredible improvement is the defensive AI.

Right now I have ESPN and it's far from being totally s***ty. The game is incredible great graphics, great gameplay. I always get realistic scores, the highest scoring game has had 31 points in my season so far and that was the computer against me. For $20 bucks you can't beat this game, this is definitely a great game. For 20 bucks you don't have anything to lose trying it out. I still might get Madden for the PC later on, but for now i'll stick to ESPN and NCAA. Both awesome games.

I agree man, It's a great game and you definitely can't beat the price.

I love the ability to use your own stadium music on ESPN for the Xbox. It's great hearing a song you love when you score a TD or get a first down.

I had ESPN 2K5 but traded in for Madden.The game is a good game but the franchise is way behind Madden.

I bought Madden yesterday, opened it but haven't played.

 

NCAA and Marlins taking up too much time.

I bought it last week, played a couple games so far. They've added a few features. I like the hit stick but it can be a distraction and you just start looking for big hits and miss more tackles. Of course its worth it though.

my complaint about madden is the soundtrack. i want to get violent if i dont have that game on mute.

Madden is better than 2k5, but I think the best game is NCAA but that my opinion.

yeah there's not much of anything i like on the soundtrack.

Well if you like a games for its features than Madden is your game, but i think NCAA has better gameplay and just is a better game overall.

i turned off the music and the madden challenge, its a perfect "Radio Game"

If your choosing between Madden and ESPN folks, no contest.

 

ESPN isn't bad, but Madden is simply a step above ESPN in all facets of things, and a much better game.
