No more numbers or letters is highly likely. Instead expect names like Home Plate, First Base, Third Base, Right Field, Left Field, Center Field and some wildcard ones thrown in there like PETCO's Gaslamp Gate.

Home Plate: Corner of 17th and Entrance Road

First Base: NW 17th Avenue

Third Base: Orange Bowl Entrance Road (yet to be named, likely address of ballpark....Conine Street???)

Right Field: NW 3rd Street

Left Field: Orange Bowl Alley/Common Area (yet to be named)

Center Field: Corner of 3rd and Orange Bowl Alley/Common Area (yet to be named)

Another thing...I hope you like the Orange Bowl because it will be very visible a factor as the ballpark will be. Think of the Truman Sports Complex in Kansas City with Arrowhead and Kaufman Stadiums.

But the two structures will be closer than in Kansas City.

Oh, also looks like the aquarium may be on the first base or right field sides.

How do you know that? Is there a link somewhere I can read?

Thanks

Another question for Cape...

I believe I read on the miamitodaynews.com article that the new location for the Marlins ballpark will be on the east side of the orange bowl. Did I understand that correctly? If I did, the Marlins ballpark will definitely have a better view of downtown.

I looked at the plans released so far and the Orange Bowl's view will be retained as is. It will be on the Southwest Side of the Orange Bowl. It may change, but nothing has been said or done yet.

Question for King Capefish:

Could we expect anything that sets the park apart from the other?

Are the gonna keep the Florida in Florida Marlins?

I'm sorry, but there is no link. It will be out soon, by December at the latest, so you can pour all over it with your heart's delight. Remember the roof and track makes third base and left field difficult for this. It may have to be a seperate building if they can't integrate it with the ballpark itself due to space.

They will change to the Miami Marlins. Diaz said that that is part of the deal or else there is no deal. Even Barry Jackson reported not too long ago that again chaning the name to Miami Marlins will be part of the deal.

As of right now it will be a Floridian style park. It will be unique believe me, you will be able to tell where the game is as Mr. Loria has made it clear he wants Floridians foilage and architecture styles used. Brick may not be something to find easily in this park.

Correct. Logo change may come soon.

Also, don't expect much Art Deco. It seems this has been nixed for a more conservative looking stone exterior surface similar to PETCO.

Geez, Cape, enough posts. Put them all in the same post, but this is getting kind of annoying.

Otherwise, thanks for the info ;) .

BTW, Conine Street really has a nice ring to it.

I here you.

I've read your ST corner post, but what direction will the stadium be facing. Like looking out past the outfield bleachers, will be in what direction? Thanks.

lemme see....

third base is north side, first base is west side, left field is east side, and right field is southside. So a lefty will still be a southpaw. :p roof will close from north to south and open from south to north.

Damn, when you say that I gotta draw it to see. :mischief2

You think it might look like the Disney baseball field that the Braves play at for ST?

not really, that park is a bit enclosed in the concourses. Think PETCO mixed with Roger Dean if you want something closer.
