His WRIST, broken bones in HAND affect your grip quite differently. Two totally different injuries.

Do me a favor, take a hammer and smash your hand ... then go out try and play catch with your friend and tell me how well that works out for you. You can't catch a ball or squeeze your mitt with broken bones in your hand.

Symptoms of Fractures of the Metacarpals or Phalanges?

* Pain

* Tenderness

* Swelling

* Deformity

* Decreased range of motion

Don't tell me it won't affect him.

brown has a back problem, that affects his pitching. brown has a lot of problems. he's not a wimp, his fielding might suffer (but they can use splits and this injury REQUIRES movement of the broken hand), and so the problem isn't massive. its just hilarious.

That's not going to mkae fielding any better. And playing through injury will just make it worse because it won't heal. He should just let it heal and hope the Yankees can win the WC.

While admit, even as a Yankees fan, I have to laugh. But...

What does it matter if it won't heal? It's his left hand? Pitchers have to field 1 ball a game, maybe none at all, most of the time. Settle down, and enjoy Mike Stanton blowing more games for you.

By the way, how's Jose Reyes hamstring?

Metacarpal fracture

"Treatment These bones are stable when only one is broken, so single bone fractures are often treated without surgery when they do not involve the joint and are not displaced (out of alignment). If the bones are in the correct position, the treatment consists of ice and elevation of the injured hand at or above heart level to reduce swelling. Immobilization by splinting, bandaging, casting, or bracing for 4 or more weeks is usually recommended to protect the bones while they heal. For fractures that are displaced (out of alignment), involve more than one metacarpalor involve a joint (the knuckle or the wrist) and are displaced, surgery is usually recommended. Surgery usually involves placement of removable pins, screws, and occasionally plates. After immobilization (with or without surgery), stretching and strengthening of the injured and weakened joint and surrounding muscles (due to the immobilization and the injury) are necessary. These may be done with or without the assistance of an occupational therapist, physical therapist, or athletic trainer. Occasionally, depending on the sport and position, a brace or splint may be necessary when initially returning to sports.

i'm not worried, do you want to put a wager on it?

I'm not quoting you. Its called reading, then talking.

"another" means there is more than one. there are two yankee fans in this thread...hmm, you don't even understand what you write within the confines of your very own sentences! very interesting indeed!

oops, did I insult you? hmmm, aren't things a lot nicer when we don't go around threads calling people names? grow up (and because you are the guy who missed sarcasm, let me point out the fact I am obviously referring to the other thread and I am only writing this because you have a hard time deciphering the obvious)

girl*

If you had read anything i had written before, i was talking about all the people on OTHER fan forums. When i said "ANOTHER", i was adding him to the many fans that were freaking out, not you. So again, read, then talk. And dont bother replying, you're the first im adding to my ignored list :D

okay "gal", but I believe the ignore list only prevents PMs and I will have no use for that. now go hide from my superior logic.

Okay, before i actually block you, the ignore list allows you to either view or not view whatever that person wrote. Not just PM's. And another thing, in the "who will win the AL East" thread, i knew you had made a typo smart one. Thats why i laughed and said "i noticed that too". I was obviously being sarcastic about "how are you going to win with horrible pitching", but i guess you missed that.

just keep on backtracking :whistle

Good God, its impossible to try to not reply to you. w/e i said what i wanted to say to you, im done.

Back to the topic: Is he done for the season or not?

brown, no he's not. there's no need to keep any anger any longer. I'm willing to drop this.

542642[/snapback]

Thank you, me too.

I was reading in the website that Mets_bs posted, and people were even saying that if he doesn't pitch, they can void his contract. You think thats true?

If Aaron Boone's contract can be voided by playing a game of pickup basketball, I hope Brown's can be, since he pretty much injured himself on purpose
