Players like stokes and other natural power hitters pretty much mash 20 hrs easy at 18 yrs old.?

hmmm

at 18 Jason Stokes didnt have 1 at bat in the minors

at 19 Jason Stokes hit 6 homeruns for Utica

now Im sure you will now say something like, "Stokes hit 27 homeruns at age 20", well Miguel Cabrera hit 22 homeruns at age 20, 12 of them in the majors.. Stokes was in A ball.

you know damn well that doubles in the minors usually become homeruns in the majors(assuming they wall balls not groundballs down the line)

549528

doubles dont become 484 + ft hrs either....

549537

but isnt a 350 foot homerun = to a 550 foot homerun?

I mean even s***ty players like Glenallen Hill hit bombs now and then

549541

glenallen hill is raw in bp tho. man that guy puts on a show..

ok now back to it, yea a 350 = 550 . i was just putting these little kids to place because they think cabrera will hit a 500 ft bomb one day. yea i know cabrera has power now. thats obvious. hes leading the team in hrs. hes great. he just will never hit a 500 ft hr just like derek lee and tons of others would.

Meh

Most of the distance on the homer is determined by the power of the pitch thrown at you, not by the strength of the hitter hitting the ball. If you get a fat 100 MPH pitch, happen to make sweet contact, it'll be landing a couple days later.

EXACTLY.

ok guys if cabs htis a grand slam 350 and wins the game or hits a 500 ft solo shot which one is better, a homer is a homer who cares, but for all the people saying he doesnt have power i belive in BP he hit a ball out of dodger stadium

Power....... no way!!!!

ohh and chicks dig the long ball

Man you guys don't know s***. Especially you BillFish. To be saying that Cabrera will never have a 50 HR seasona dn never hit a HR further than D Lee's. Do you like know the f***in future? Bro you dont know jack. Cabrera is going to be one of the best hitters as he ages. He's got the power and he's got the size. He definitely has a great swing. Improvements on all of his mechanics will only make him better.

548680

yea he can be one of the best, but i never said hes not going to hit 50 hrs in a season. he might. he might not. he has a chance to. but as for hitting it farhter than d.lee. nope. and where did i say hes not ever going to hit 50 or has no chance at it huh smart guy? and improvements in mechanics dont make you hit the ball 500 ft. its either roids or you just change your style alltogether and start bashing the ball and lead the league in ks.

549496

Improved mechanics ould have DLee hitting 500 foot bombs...

uhh not really. distance of a hr depends on pitch location. you can take a 75 mph hanging curve and blast it a mile. ala glenallen hill. hill used to take 55 mph pitches in bp and send them over 500 each time. its pitch location, if the hitter knows the pitch comming and strength, hit style that determines distance. not the pitch thrown at you, although in some cases that can help. you need to learn your baseball mr. potter i mean juanky

again with the homie. nobodys your homie. Cabera got the power and skill to hit a 500 ft homer one day. Maybe when he gets older, but hes still getting there. Hes not just going to stop hitting homers by the age of 22. hes going to get better, duh. thats the law of life. Cabrera is hitting more homers than any player in the Marlins,at 21. Hes gonna b awsome. Get it right.

Incase you didn't know and incase you are to ignorant to know, pitch speed does affect the distance a ball is hit. Don't write about something you don't know man. That just makes you look way too stupid. :lol

u have yet to post something worth noting. so i take ur post as a joke. i said pitch speed does help, but its not everything. not all hrs are hit off of 100 mph or even 95+ fastballs. you need to learn how to read my posts before you start opening your mouth
