Kobe Bryant says he intends to become a free agent after next season, according to ESPN's Jim Gray.Bryant, drafted by Charlotte but traded to the Lakers less than a month later in 1996, has never played for another team. He has won three world championships with the Lakers, from 2000-2002.

Bryant has hinted at wanting to leave the Lakers before, but this is the first time he's said he will indeed consider his options as a free agent.

According to Gray, Bryant plans to opt out of his contract because he isn't sure what will happen to Lakers' coach Phil Jackson, he wants to see what the Lakers' plans for the future are and because he's never had the chance to test the free agent market.

Bryant averaged 30 points per game last season for the Lakers, who lost to San Antonio in the Western Conference semifinals. He's averaged 21.5 points per game for his career.

He's not going anywhere. One Nike knows that unless he's A Laker he is not as marketable and they paid him a lot of money. Two, Jerry West might be in Memphis but The Money is not going to be there.

God damnit Kobe, I know you're all about the fashion! The Heat have the most stylish jerseys, by far!!! Hott women in Miami!!!

*On knees begging*

Dont dismiss the Grizzles so easily people.

The Grizzles are improving and improving at a rapid rate.

Granted Jerry West went looney in the draft yesterday, but that team still has some pretty decent talent....the off guard spot is one of the weak spots on that team.

I really think Nike is going to keep him in LA because with The Money he is getting some say double what Lebron is getting...

They want him in LA, and they can get what they want.

Kobe will not return to the Lakers after next season , Heat will make a push for him... remeber he and his girl would luvto come down here cuz she is latin

Ok...

The heat are looking to DUMP salary not gain it.

Unless Grant and Jones is gone, Kobe is going no where.

Read The Reports, You'll see that The Heat are in no way able right now to add money.

Keep dreaming guys. Miami is at the bottom of Kobes list, alongside Minnesota, San Antonio, Sacremento and Portland.

Kobe is going to go to a team with nobody on the roster. Meaning he has said privately that he wants to be the "only star on the team. and see if he can carry the team like he thinks he has in L.A."

Very Cocky. Kobe is more likely to come to Minnesota because he and K.G. are best friends. (Garnetts building a house right next to Kobes) But see, that ain't gonna happen either as far as him coming to Minnesota. I'm just showing you guys that there is no way hes going to Miami. And Zo, I'd be surprised if he were with you guys and not someone else if he plays next year.

I look for Kobe to go to a team with tons of money and no bonafide super stars.

Besides Zo, who is a superstar in Miami?

Jones. Is a star, not a super star, but a star.

Zo has lost his zen.

And since Miami is overpaying everyone, they couldn't afford Kobe.

Alonzo Mouring can't play basketball since that illness he got or whatever it was.

An if the Heat every got Kobe it would be for a very short time.

Well IF Kobe were to sign with Miami (and hes more likely to go to Sacremento then Miami) it would be a 2-3 year deal tops. With lots of gaurunteed cash.

But anyone who thinks hes going is nuts. I changed my opinion on this many times. He is staying in LA. This is merely a negotiation ploy to get the Lakers talking.
