Blackru_fish
We didn't get much help last night, perhaps tonight might be better for us. If any of those contending teams lose its a bonus.

Blackru_fish
The cubs haven't been scoring runs lately. I really don't think the are going to make the postseason on current form, esp playing away from home soon. The Giants are really surprising me, but they will have harder games to play. If we keep on winning like we are, I don't see too may problems. The Wildcard could just open up for us if we stick at it.
rferry
woah, woah, woah... hold up! We still have a chance at the division. If we're going to have a shot at the wild card we have to beat the teams on our schedule and that includes 6 games with the Braves. Now look at the standings, the Marlins are 6 back in the loss column. Oh yeah, and the Braves are losing to the Mets 4-0 in the 6th right now. I'd like to see the Fish take as many games as possible off the Braves but even then its sooooo unlikely.

They'll have to when we face them or we may not win any postseason berth.

jonnylons
I agree Rferry - but I have been monitoring this in private. I dont feel the Braves are that good of a team to just run away with the division from here on. We have to win our way in which means something is going to give for the Braves. I also think that the Braves, as good as they have played, are way over their heads. They have totally outplayed themselves. It is going to get interesting. But we have to keep focused on the WC for now. As for the other Wild Card contenders, I think the next couple of weeks we will see a shake down. As I say that, it is now 6-1 Astros over Cards in the 4th with 2 outs.

bman8316
3-2 San Fran Top 7th 2-0 Pit Top 6th 7-1 Hou Top 5th 7-6 Cin Bot 7th 7-0 NYM Top 8th Atleast we will gain ground somewhere, I also have to admit that the best part about the Fish playing day games is the fact that we get to sit back and see what other teams are doing, knowing that we have already won. jonnylons
We got a chance to make up a lot of ground if we can win both games tomorrow. That would be, as they say these days, beast.
jonnylons
Mets won (7-0 over Braves). Phils lost (6-7 to Cin). SF beat Mil (3-2). And right now, it is 7-5 Hou, but Cards have been making a come back with 2 outs and a man on second. Could be good...
jonnylons
Taguchi...that guy is complete garbage. I am surprised he was up there swinging - I thought LaRussa was a better manager than that. Oh, Astros pulled it off 7-5 over Cards. So, not a whole lot of difference inthe WC standings.
