Accord
John Franco was on OTL tonight and he brought up a GREAT point in defense of Francisco the chair thrower. He said that some of these fans bring media guides to the games and read the bio's of a player sitting in the bullpen seeing that they've got kids, a wife, etc. and then the fans start heckling a player about his kids or mother or something of that sort. I'm not saying throwing a chair at a womens face was an appropriate way to respond but he must have been REALLY pushed over the edge to do something like that. David Wells was also interviewed on OTL and he told a story about one time when he was sitting in the bullpen in Cleveland the day after his mother passed away and a fan was heckling him about his dead mother and David Wells said he almost broke down and can more than understand the actions of Francisco. There's no way a player would just go absolutely crazy over normal heckling by fans, something VERY bad must have been said.
rferry
Who are two pitchers that should retire? This jeopardy thing is easy. I could win 75 times too.

orisha
the guy could have easily asked to have the guy removed and it would have been done. he lost his cool, now he has to pay for it.

Clembasbal
Sometimes fan gets out of control, it is up to a professional to be a good person about it and let it go to rest. I hated Wells on the White Sox, but recalling that story and having him eat his hat throughout makes him a good professional in my mind (not to mention that when he is not in a ball park he beats those types of people down)
