Season over

Featured Replies

There is no chance to make the playoffs this year. The players have underperformed, and there isn't enough talent on the offense.

Yep, the dolphins cant make the playoffs this year.

People need to stop living a fantasy. There is nothing wrong with wanting the marlins to make it or cheering them on till the end, but you have to be realistic.

With 20 games to go we were 2 games back, now we have lost 4 out of the past 5 while all the other teams get farther away from us. You really are only fooling yourself if you think they can come back.

I cant wait to see what happens if atlanta sweeps today and we go 5.5 back and hear someone say "we still have a chance" there are still a few games left.

The Marlins season is definity over. I didn't expect them to get even this close, after getting rid of our two best hitters last year, Ivan Rodriguez and Derrek Lee. We might as well be the Pittsburgh Pirates with no name hitters, our best hitter is a rookie Miguel Cabrara. The only thing that got us this far was our pitching. I will keep saying this we need veteran hitters. I was so mad with the Marlins when they past up on getting Admin Walker. He would have been the key player we needed to get to the playoff.

We had a better team this year, without the big names or veterans.

In 2003 we caught a lot of breaks, this year more injuries, more slumps, more line drives right at a fielder, more hurricanes and no clutch hitting. I won't call it 'luck', it's somethign that can not be explained or quantified, but things have not gone our way this year. I mean how many times did we catch the Expos, Reds, Pirates, Tigers, Devil Rays and every other bad team in the middle of their hot streak?

While the Marlins have yet to be mathematically eliminated from the postseason, it's the battle they must go through that makes me think we can't pull this one out. Atleast one more start will be pitched by a 6th starter and 3 more by Ishmael Valdez. The offense has been in its season-long slumber and with a runner in scoring position everyone loses focus and begin to hack. We've got a gold glove-caliber defense, but watch hit after hit escape out of the infield while our batted groundballs turn into double plays. The team is not clicking and faces a huge scheduling hurdle. If they do the impossible, it will definetly be a sight to see.

That pretty well sums it up.

It would be great to see a come back, but not likely to happen. The team is playing like it is worn out......and for good reason.....the last few weeks have been very stressful.
