Sorry for making another debate thread but what do you think some of the best answers/lines were from Thursday Night's debate?

I thought Bush really nailed Kerry in the beginning when he pointed out some of the flip-flops saying stuff like "I agree with my opponent when he said that anyone that thinks Sadam Hussein isn't a threat shouldn't be a leader of any country"

However, I thought that Kerry really got under Bush's skin with all the invading Iraq issues. "Us invading Iraq after 9/11 is like Thomas Jefferson invading Mexico after Pearl Harbor".

What do ya guys think?

No, didn't you see debate?

Kerry-

"With respect to Iran, the British, French, and Germans were the ones who initiated an effort without the United States, regrettably, to begin to try to move to curb the nuclear possibilities in Iran. I believe we could have done better. I think the United States should have offered the opportunity to provide the nuclear fuel"

Provide Iran with nuclear fuel??!??

Yes. I couldn't stop laughing.

My favorite line was still Bush answering something Kerry said in the beginning with "Let's not get into how he is going to pay for that."

That was a horrible response and Joe Scarborough agreed. Bush basically said he doesnt support spending more money on critical elements of threat defense. He chose to defend tax cuts for the wealthy over homeland security.

And no, he didnt say Jefferson. Someone needs to get their hearing checked.

The terrorism czar, who has worked for every president since Ronald Reagan, said, "Invading Iraq in response to 9/11 would be like Franklin Roosevelt invading Mexico in response to Pearl Harbor." That's what we have here.

Thank you F_M. I was waiting for someone to say that.

He said Jefferson in the debate. Regardless if he intended to or not.

Kerry said "Franklin Roosevolt"

I have the transcript.

"How can anyone think you can build alliances with countries when you run down your current allies?"

Can anyone explain why Bush said "let me finish" when it was his turn to speak and he had plenty of time left? I've seen a few theories out there. :0

FNC transcript says:

The terrorism czar, who has worked for every president since Ronald Reagan, said, "Invading Iraq in response to 9/11 would be like Franklin Roosevelt invading Mexico in response to Pearl Harbor."

Yep, that's what he said. But I think it would probably be more like invading germany or italy. :confused

I missed that. He actually said Jefferson? :lol

:cool Wow these guys really like to LIE. Kerry did not mention Jefferson's name in the entire speech. :lol :lol :lol

Kerry's Comment:

The terrorism czar, who has worked for every president since Ronald Reagan, said, ?Invading Iraq in response to 9/11 would be like Franklin Roosevelt invading Mexico in response to Pearl Harbor.?

Get the Facts People! Don't make me make you look like :jackass

My Favorites:

To save for Halliburton the spoils of the war, they actually issued a memorandum from the Defense Department saying, ?If you weren?t with us in the war, don?t bother applying for any construction.?

That?s not a way to invite people.

:cool

Jim, the president just said something extraordinarily revealing and frankly very important in this debate. In answer to your question about Iraq and sending people into Iraq, he just said, ?The enemy attacked us.?

Saddam Hussein didn?t attack us. Osama bin Laden attacked us. al Qaeda attacked us.

:chair Take that Bush!

:thumbup
