October 4, 200421 yr Various reports that Admin Bowa is being considered as Jack's Bench Coach (citing also that Bowa and McKeon had a long conversation just before the announcement of Bowa's firing... and Jack would welcome him on the Marlins staff)) are curious. Why would Bowa take a second-string assignment. Only answer is that they respect each other enough that Bowa can keep his ego under control. And maybe he can teach Cox how to coach 3rd.
October 4, 200421 yr Don Baylor is the Mets hitting coach and he used to be the Rockies manager. Sometimes the best way to be a manager again is to take a job as a coach somewhere to prove you know what you're doing.
