Don't want to rehash the thread but I was under the same impression. I was a kid when Lowell was at FIU so I can't say if he went to school there from day 1 or transferred. On his stats/bio it only states he went to FIU.

Maybe he is a UM fan because FIU doesn't have sports. If you live in Miami, the natural team to follow is UM (though I hate them and like the Gators). Anyways when Mike was talking to this girl he may have mentioned that since she was a PSU fan and he likes Miami and maybe 'went there' and 'is from there' got confused and she heard him wrong. I actually believe this girl, because it sounds pretty realistic (you can't make the Boog Sciambi part up lol) and the only iffy part was the UM thing. I just think of it as Mike grew up in Coral Gables, so he rooted for Miami as a kid and that is still is team. Not that he went there.
