November 2, 200422 yr Jerome over at MyDD gets the big scoop on the 2 p.m. VNS numbers: AZ CO LA PA OH FL MI NM MN WI IA NH Kerry 45 48 42 60 52 51 51 50 58 52 49 57 Bush 55 51 57 40 48 48 47 48 40 43 49 41 In 2000, the early numbers favored Bush. In 2002, exit polling was terribly innacurate. Exit polling also doesn't account for absentee and early ballots. And it's still early in the day. PA and MN will be much closer than these number indicate. So please, please take with a giant grain of sand. c/o www.drudge.com Good news for Kerry, but of course it's still way early.
November 2, 200422 yr Around this time, Gore was up in a few states that went Bush, but the media still called it Gore at the time.
November 2, 200422 yr Author You said you weren't voting until 6:30 pm on another thread.... 606545 I guess the spoof aspect of that post about selling my vote to the highest bidder didn't take hold with you... Levity is a good thing...try it some time 606556 Silly me! How lame of my for not mastering the art of emotion detection through text in an online environment! Regardless it's funny now that I think back.
November 2, 200422 yr Perhaps it was because I was out VOTING! and then went grocery shopping. Took about 5 minutes... Anyone who waited in line for hours to early vote was a moron... 606542 Yeah I went out to do early voting on Sunday, but the line was easily over 2 hours. I said screw it, I'll take my chances at the precinct on Tuesday. Glad I waited. I walked in today around 3:00 with no line whatsoever. :thumbup
November 2, 200422 yr I'm not looking at any polls unless they are counted votes. How can exit polls be accurate when 20% of the Florida voting population is automatically missing (voted early) and half or more don't answer the polls?
November 3, 200422 yr they actually had electronic machines statewide two years ago, as well. they're spiff
November 3, 200422 yr The iVotetronics were the same as used in 2002 for the governor's race. Some counties like Monroe use a scantron system which has a paper ballot filled out, scanned, and counted by the machine.
