November 3, 200421 yr Author Blog entry from last year's game. http://beisbol.blogspot.com/2004_02_29_beisbol_archive.html Marlins beat Hurricanes 7-6 in exhibition opener AP Story RHP Delvin James gave up 5 runs in one inning to the Hurricanes, who were using wooden bats, many of them for the first time in a competitive context. This is definitely not the way to impress the coaching staff. IF Damion Easley hit a two-run homer and IF Felipe Crespo singled in a run in the ninth inning to win the game. What does it mean? Absolutely nothing. Let's not start talking about the old World Series close-game magic during Spring Training. We'll start to sound like the Yankees fans talking about their "mystique".
