July 5, 200322 yr D'Angelo Jimenez he is only 25, is a switch hitter like Luis, has shown some power..... wouldnt be a bad replacement he was designated for assignment when the ChiSox acquired Roberto Alomar
July 5, 200322 yr Robby is in the last year of his contract, so after they try and make a run Jimenez is their 2B for the future. I doubt they resign Robby.

Wathan, Wilson, Hooper, Medrano? Wilson is having a breakthrough season, but it seems the others are performing vastly under expectations. Maybe we should seek an outside replacement. I like Jimenez's walks and power for limited AB's...know anything about his range/arm?
July 5, 200322 yr Author huh? what is going on? the ChiSox cut him.... i was wondering if any of you have thoughts on him he has already played in the majors and is still young and cheap
July 5, 200322 yr huh? what is going on? the ChiSox cut him.... i was wondering if any of you have thoughts on him he has already played in the majors and is still young and cheap huh, right back at ya...you said he was designated for assignment not cut...if by cut you mean released. im confused...are you saying we should trade for him or claim him off waivers?
July 5, 200322 yr I've read a lot of bad things about Jimenez, He's very lazy and unmotivated..We don't want that type here. Here's a CRAZY idea...so be gentle, But how about moving Cabrera to 2b? That would allow us to acquires good LH power bat for the OF and give us an awsome bat at 2B. He'll probably struggle defensively at first, but he;s a great athlete and could probably make the adjustment. Remember, he was signed as a SS And came up as a 3B, harder positions to play than 2B... We could then get a LFer that could play here 1-3 years and then Stokes can replace him if he is indeed moved to a corner OF. Am I out of my mind?
July 5, 200322 yr claim him off waivers Is this contingent on him not accepting assignment? Or are you just assuming he wont accept? Or do teams ahve a chance to claim him because the teams options have run out? Im not clear on the rules there...but he would be an excellent pickup once we trade Fox.

Ive heard reports that hes too BIG for 2B, but im not sure how that would affect his play there. Ramp seems to think its ridiculous to play him there, but hasnt given any good enough reasons for me :lol
July 5, 200322 yr Author he is too big to play 2nd....(Cabs i mean Jimenez is out of options i believe

Jeff Kent, Soriano, Adam Kennedy, etc. etc. Do you have to be a certified midget to play 2b or something?
July 5, 200322 yr Author Us, the coaches, and every scout in baseball... so why hasnt he played there?
July 5, 200322 yr Author Mike Lowell is 6' 3'' play him there Enc is 6' 3'' play him there Juan Pierre is 6 foot.... play him there
July 5, 200322 yr forget it... you guys seem to have all the answers Well just because you cant explain the reason doesnt mean there isnt one. If the FO wanted to try him and 2B why is he taking grounders at first? So there must be a reason why they havnt experimented with him at 2B. Maybe its because he is going to keep bulking up and his range/agility for the SS/2B spots will be decreased but it wont hurt him as much at 1B/3B/LF?

July 5, 200322 yr Mike Lowell is 6' 3'' play him there Enc is 6' 3'' play him there Juan Pierre is 6 foot.... play him there Encarnacion has a gun... Lowell isn't quick enough, plus is much heavier than Miguel... Pierre has the speed to track the long ball...
July 5, 200322 yr Cabs is a thick guy....i dont think he could have the range... Scouting report says he has excellent range at 3B, but thats not the same as having excellent range at SS/2B. Cabs will most likely never play SS or 2B.
