November 10, 200421 yr Got this from some blog. Better than nothing I guess. These are the top 7 players on Scott Boras client list this winter: Carlos Beltran Adrian Beltre J.D. Drew Jason Varitek Magglio Ordonez Derek Lowe Kevin Millwood This doesn't inlcude all of his lower level clients like Ron Villone and the rest. Posted by Knuckle Dragger at November 5, 2004 06:36 AM
November 10, 200421 yr Ah damn... He has Varitek?? Varitek seems like such a good guy.. and to be represented by such a jackass....that bites.
November 10, 200421 yr Author Boras is asking for a 5 year deal from the Sox with a no trade clause. He will not be a part of the Nation any longer. Doug Mirabelli - your 2005 Boston Red Sox starting catcher.
November 10, 200421 yr Any predictions where he may end up? That will be a hell of a pickup for any team. I really hope he stays in Boston.
November 10, 200421 yr He's staying with the Red Sox, to even think that the Sox won't resign Tek is ludicrous. There isn't any team out there that is in need of a catcher that has more money than the Sox...

So you can get as much money as possible. And which agent gets his clients the most amount of money? Boras. I'd probably sign with Boras. Yes he is an a**hole, but most of the agents are. He's just doing his job, to get his clients as much money as possible.
November 10, 200421 yr As a fan I can't stand Boras, but I'd probably hire him if I was a player. He is a great agent. That's why fans hate him so much.
November 10, 200421 yr Other Borass clients: Alex Rodriguez Chan Ho Park Mark Texeira Brad Wilkerson Johnny Damon Greg Maddux Pudge ? (saw it on some sites) how long until this guy can buy a few countries all by himself with all the commisions? :plain

They dont like long term deals, and 5 years is a loooooooooong time for a catcher past 30. This is a semi-moneyball GM.

This is a semi-moneyball GM. 612357[/snapback] Their payroll this season was 130 million, dwarfing any team that wasn't the Yankees. Obviously they don't dish out as much as the Yanks but it wouldn 't make sense for them not to resign Tek He's their clubhouse leader and a fan favorite They have the dough and more dough than any team in need of a catcher They just won their first WS in 86 years, from a business standpoint why would they try to mess with the current lineup? These fans aren't going to demand a WS title in the near future, but they'd like to see that their team is competitive year in and year out. All the Sox need to do to appease their fanbase for the next 86 years is to resign guys like Tek.
November 11, 200421 yr Boras is bad for baseball, plain and simple. He was behind the A-Rod 10 year $252mil contract... Yes, the Rangers offered it to him, but Boras is the one demanding ridiculous contracts.... He sucks. As an agent, I'm sure players love to have him, but I'd much rather have a player like Luis Castillo and Mike Lowell who take less money to play for a team they love, over someone like Boras who makes his players feel that it's all about the money..... You know Mike Lowell is set at $8mil a season.. you don't need to be a greedy bastard and demand $10mil a season. What the hell is the difference at that point?
