It is. The team that could have been the dynasty of the 21st century is slowly being picked apart. The starting rotation that could have put this franchise on the map permanently is almost half gone. It's sad. The only thing we have going for us is the damn stadium. Even the Joe Buck of the future is gone. We had the ingredients for a dynasty..............We may never get this chance again.

All i've got to say is IN BEINFEST WE TRUST. Give the man some time and let him work his magic. Beinfest didn't let us down in 2003 by acquiring Pudge, Urbina, etc. and he didn't let us down in 2004 when he pulled off a blockbuster deal at the trade deadline to get Lo Duca.

 

We'll be fine, just give Beinfest some time. You guys can start worrying on opening day if Beinfest hasn't pulled something off by then.

The 2004 team underachieved and there was no excuse for it. We had a great lineup, it just seemed like at least half the lineup was ALWAYS in the middle of a slump all season long.

Baseball is cyclical, particularly for the low-budget, small-market teams. We won the World Series with a "low-budget" team. That won't happen often. But, the possibility is there (as Steinbrenner knows).

 

I'm happy if the FO puts a comptetive team on the field.

This year I'd like to see us re-sign every position player and put every extra penny into pitching.

 

I think we're going to have an exciting Spring Training.

:blink: What exactly is "IT"? Was everyone really expecting another WS title in 04 and then another in 05 and so on? My expectations for this team are to be competitive and put the best team that they can afford on the field. I think that is exactly what the FO will do seeing the holiday shopping season hasn't really even started and there is still lots of quality players within the Marlins budget. If someone is ready to jump ship now, please do so without the life jacket.

It's true, were not the same team we were in 2003. thats why not many people went to marlins game in 2004. we lost pudge and lee. But we have tremendous talent that can turn into something. the Marlins still have a chance to be something.
