For the 2nd straight year....

Featured Replies

Iowa with a big upset win over Rick Pitino and Louisville.

Alford is still a pathetic recruiter for the potential players he could get, but his roster this year is pretty talented and I think Iowa could make it back to the NCAA tourney and be a surprise dark horse in the Big 10.

What are you talking about? Aren't you an Illini fan? He's not a pathetic recruiter. He's a better recruiter than Davis was if thats what you're talking about. Peirce is a stud. Bringing in Doug Thomas was big. He's gotten Mr. Basketball in Iowa i don't know how many straight years (Jeff Horner, Carlton Reed). He brought in a good 7 footer from Ohio. There's more talent on this team than any of Tom Davis' recruited teams. Davis just did more with less talent. anyway

I like our squad. Horner-Haluska-Peirce are awesome. Hansen is a great shot blocker. Brunner is one tough SOB and Thomas dunks harder than anyone. Nice depth with Thomas, Mike Henderson, Carlton Reed and Alex Thompson off the bench.

I guess....well anyways we can agree Iowa has good talent on the team this season, and I think you all are in good shape to win 20 and make the tourney this year.

Oh, and for the record, I have no problem with Iowa, the only big 10 programs I hate are Wisconsin and Michigan State :lol

Yeah, I know quite a few Iowa fans/alum, good people, and I really love the job Kirk Ferentz has done with the football team.....if anything, I don't like Alford because he's underachieved as coach IMO.

You're tellin me.. He's walkin on thin ice with Iowa fans but I've mostly supported him. I think he's got a good squad and I think we can finally get back to the tourney this year.. cooling down his hot seat.

As for what you said about Ferentz, he is amazing. Such a great guy.. just signed a contract extension the other day! He really does an unbelievable job.

Every year his name comes up for NFL jobs and/or "major" college openings, but I doubt he leaves, he just seems to be happy at Iowa, which with his success there, I can't blame him.
