Boog up for Padres' radio job

Featured Replies

RTBNL = reporter to be named later. TNSTAAGCM = there's no such thing as a good color man.

Just messing with you, Cape. :D Who do you think would be the leading candidates to replace Jon? You've pointed out in the past it took awhile for DVH to warm up to Jon.

Ross Porter is on my personal list because Boog is taking the SD job he wanted. He has a home in Vero Beach I believe.

Boog will get rejected.

The Padres and XPRS-AM are "mighty" (no pun intended) a looking for someone to replace Coleman who has called games (check), done pre- and post-game shows (check), done NHL hockey (check-Panthers on WQAM), done a sports talk show (check-Boog Show on WQAM)....The Mighty 1090 is on his radar, as he is on their's...issues are not that big.

Bottom Line: EXPECT BOOG TO LEAVE....but if he doesn't, expect him to try again next chance he gets.

I definitely think he is taking off to WHATEVER job he finds if he gets a chance. Then again, I don't listen to the Fish on the radio so I don't really care that much.

I listen to them on the radio a lot, and soon thanks to MLB and XM Radio ALL the time.

Can they just clone DVH? The last half of the season he more or less took on both responsibilities. Sciambi was just some guy asking him questions. You could bring in an unproven rook to replace him. I'd really like to hear Dawson, Perez and Marlins FO staff more on the telecasts.

A frequent radio listener, who grew up with Red Barber, Mel Allen and Vince Scully, I AGREE.

Sciambi IMO was never a team player. Boog for Boog. I wish him well. Most of all I wish him good-bye.

I must also mention that I REMEMBER all the bad-mouthing that DVH got on this Forum when he started. He was "boring," he didn't have a zippy home-run cliche.

He's a quality, knowledgeable pro, and a very decent man.

I have been unhappy with Boog's attitude towards South Florida sports and other announcers since he was back doing the Panthers Pre-Game Show on WQAM.
