December 16, 200421 yr yes hate the owner because he is losing money and doesnt wanna continue to lose money SHAME ON HIM!!! what if you hate the fans? more people at games= more money to spend on good players
December 16, 200421 yr Loria is a joke. The whole Pavano deal was just a decoy. He made the offer so it looks like he was trying. Is not like I thought it was a must to resign Pavano but you people need to realize that this team is not going anywhere with this guy as the owner. 635880 Where were you during the entire 2003 season? 635892 At the games. I had partial season tickets fo weekend games.Did not renew this year. 635918 cheapskate

December 16, 200421 yr Some of you guys are hilarious! I bleed a teal and white but my dislike of Loria doesn't make me a true fan? :plain

Do I have your position straight? I assume you aren't majoring in Finance.

Second, The guy should have been smarter investor in the first place before jumping on the Marlins. He should have analyze the Miami sports market. He should know in the first place that you will have to build a contender if not the audience just won't be there in Miami, which is a town full of fair weathers fans.

What Im saying is that we need more true fans like you that actually buy tickets to go to games so that we can keep these players that we have learned to love. Instead of losing these players during or after their contract year because we cant afford them.
December 16, 200421 yr Author What Im saying is that we need more true fans like you that actually buy tickets to go to games so that we can keep these players that we have learned to love. 635947 Exactly. No revenue = players leaving for free agency. Don't like it? Blame yourself, not an owner who is already dipping into his own pocket to field a competitive team.

December 16, 200421 yr Well, I never said I would stop being a fan. I root for the name on the front, not the one on the back. However I root for the BURNETT jersey just a little harder than most others, and I'd be disappointed if he left. If we got a good deal I'd understand, but it'd be nice if they approached him at all to try and get an extension. I don't see where questioning management is so wrong, that's what this place exists for.
December 16, 200421 yr You can question management all you want, you should, but dont say Im not buying tkts because I hate the owner, because thats not the solution. But you should also realize that the Marlins current situation is a sthtiy one and that management has to do what it has to do to make this team a competative one and keep them in the hunt. When P. Wilson and CJ were traded for JP, all I heard around town is there goes the Marlins fire selling their players, OMG we couldnt resign Cliff Floyd and we traded him, it turned out pretty good IMO, maybe you didnt like the results. Be critical and question their moves sure, but you dont always have to be a cynic.
December 16, 200421 yr If he doesn't want to buy tickets, that's his perogative. It's his money, after all.
December 16, 200421 yr If he doesn't want to buy tickets, that's his perogative. It's his money, after all. 636048 I understand that, but dont say its because I hate the owner, and for that reason I dont want to support the team I love.
December 16, 200421 yr But if you honestly have a beef with the owner, but still love the team, what better way to have your say than to not purchase anything team related? You can follow the team on tv and the radio, but without buying anything your money isn't going into the pocket of the man you hate. I do this with the Fins, I hate Wayne but love the Dolphins. I just cannot bring myself to give that many anymore money than I have to.

Your point is valid and I understand where you are coming from.
December 16, 200421 yr Just because one is losing money does not mean they aren't receiving any. If he chooses to not have tickets because Loria doesn't deserve the money, fine. His money. I personally paid about 20% of all my account money for my season tix, just cuz I want the change to go regurlarly. But if for some reason come season ticket renewal time I'm not happy with the management, they can hand off my tickets to someone else.
December 16, 200421 yr What do you guys think the Tigers will offer for Burnett?? Do you really think we can get something better for him?? Hopefully we can get bullpen help from them either Percival or Urbina and also take a few good prospects from them along with Jeremy Bonderman
December 16, 200421 yr Poor AJ. It must be tough to have an employer pay you when you dont work. I am tired of his attitude. He wants out? Bye. Trade his ass. We can get more for him than we probably should. But he has to be traded sooner rather than later.
December 16, 200421 yr Poor AJ. It must be tough to have an employer pay you when you dont work.636188 Must suck to have an employer hide an injury from you.
