I'm a 20 year old student and made a sacrafice to buy tickets.I was unemployed when I purchased the tickets but I was decided to use some of my savings anyways.

So you believe you have the moral highground and aren't buying tickets because you have limited economic resources but Loria is a bum because he's not willing to lose $50 million a year by signing Pavano and Benitez and maybe you'd like him to sign Drew too for five years/$50 million or Maggs or whoever you think he should lose money signing?

Every knows those figures are not exactly straigth.

 

Second,

 

The guy should have been smarter investor in the first place before jumping on the Marlins.He should have analyze the Miami sports market.He should know in the first place that you will have to build a contender if not the audience just won't be there in Miami,which is a town full of fair weathers fans.

If John Henry were to have stayed as owner, do you think the Marlins win the 2003 WS, was that a contender :mischief2 I think that was a contender, was last years team a contender :mischief2 I think so, when youre in the hunt in Sept youre a contender, will the Marlins be a contender in 2005 I think so but we will wait and see on that

 

I also am a poor college student, but $100 bucks for 20 games I cant beat that, Ive had a tkt package since 1996 and since Loria has been owner not only have my tkts never been cheaper, but the product has never been better.

Well, I never said I would stop being a fan. I root for the name on the front, not the one on the back. However I root for the BURNETT jersey just a little harder than most others, and I'd be disappointed if he left. If we got a good deal I'd understand, but it'd be nice if they approached him at all to try and get an extension.

 

I don't see where questioning management is so wrong, that's what this place exists for.

You can question management all you want, you should, but dont say Im not buying tkts because I hate the owner, because thats not the solution. But you should also realize that the Marlins current situation is a sthtiy one and that management has to do what it has to do to make this team a competative one and keep them in the hunt. When P. Wilson and CJ were traded for JP, all I heard around town is there goes the Marlins fire selling their players, OMG we couldnt resign Cliff Floyd and we traded him, it turned out pretty good IMO, maybe you didnt like the results. Be critical and question their moves sure, but you dont always have to be a cynic.

Too bad its not going into his pocket (he is LOSING money) and with the situation as it is with the Marlins, having an attitude like this, there wont be a Marlins team or owner to bitch about.

 

Your point is valid and I understand where you are coming from.

Just because one is losing money does not mean they aren't receiving any. If he chooses to not have tickets because Loria doesn't deserve the money, fine. His money. I personally paid about 20% of all my account money for my season tix, just cuz I want the change to go regurlarly. But if for some reason come season ticket renewal time I'm not happy with the management, they can hand off my tickets to someone else.

What do you guys think the Tigers will offer for Burnett?? Do you really think we can get something better for him?? Hopefully we can get bullpen help from them either Percival or Urbina and also take a few good prospects from them along with Jeremy Bonderman
