I think it is ridiculous for him to talk s*** about a team that bent over backwards for him the last three years.

And now he turns around nad bashes Terry Francona who didnt do jack to deserve the bashing he is taking now. He calls tito a puppet when it fact, this whole deal to the Mets was based on him being a marionette under his agent Cuza. He didnt even know much about the Mets when he was signed, forgetting the face of the team, Mike Piazza.

 

He also used Boston like a bunch of hacks to squeeze a few more million out of the Mets. His agent told Admin Lucchinno they had a deal, so Boston backed off. He then stabbed them in the back by telling the Mets to up their deal a bit more and they would sign with them.

 

Pedro has some serious pride issues that he needs to get over if he wants to go back to even a shadow of the pitcher he once was. He needs shoulder surgery but he is too full of pride to go through the rehabilitation work and the like...thats right, there would be alot of pain and work involved and he cant take that. He knows there is some serious stuff messed up in that shoulder and he has resisted from this spring to take an MRI.

 

if you look at Pedro's baserunners per nine innings, hits per nine innings, strikeout to walk ratios, they've all gone south dramatically in the last five years, strikeouts per nine innings pitched too. Those are indicators that the stuff is not there. He had a 5.00 ERA when he pitched in a normal rotation on four days rest. Tom Verducci admired what Pedro did in the post-season, pointing out that his three good starts were on 7-8-and-7 days rest. And then when he pitched on four days rest, he didn't pitch well.

 

It was an eye opener for him that the Sox wouldnt offer him past three years....why? He wont be around in three years. This hurt him badly, so what can he do back? Talk smack and stretch truths. Schilling backed this guy on every sports talk show in New England and Pedro repays him by spewing garbage because he knows Schill is the better pitcher and was a huge reason they won the WS. Pride. Pride. Pride.

 

He could have ridden out of town on a white horse by peacefully leaving as both sides realized it was time to go their sepperate ways.

 

Instead he is making himself look like a clown and is setting himself up for the end of his career.
