December 21, 200421 yr Not good news for our hopes in landing him.. Also, the Washington Times reported that the Mariners have made an offer to left-handed starting pitcher Odalis Perez, who was 7-6 in 31 starts for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season. Perez is also being pursued by the Washington Nationals. The Washington Times reported that the Mariners were believed to have made a proposal to Perez better than the three-year, $18 million deal the Nationals are offering. Seattle Times
December 21, 200421 yr I thought the Nationals were in a freeze and couldn't make roster moves. And I don't see the Marlins willing to pay more than 6 or 7 mill a year to fill a #5 hole in a rotation.
December 21, 200421 yr I really hope we have someone in mind that didn't pitch in AA last year or can barely pitch 4 innings.

December 21, 200421 yr I don't see any reason why the Marlins still can't sign this guy. $6-$7 million/year is pretty reasonable for a guy who put up the kind of numbers he put up in '02 and '04 and is still only 27 years old. If they're not going to give the money to AJ, they should give it to Odalis.
