What a douche. That's a very common phrase in todays society.

If you heard someone say this on the street I know you wouldn't walk up to them and start whining.

Easy with the name calling, kid....

And this is where you're wrong... I would and have called people out on the street for using that so called "common phrase." But I guess your reasoning explains it all. You like to repeat things you hear in today's society.... Fair enough, just don't expect to be taken seriously.

So you just randomly walk up to people and tell them what they should and shouldn't say?

I'm speechless.

So do you know the history of the word? If you did, you would know why its offensive.

If someone says something in my immediate vicinity that is offensive, you bet your arse I speak up.... It takes a lot for me to find something offensive, but if you're still amazed that people reacted this way to your post, then you must not be the sharpest tool in the toolshed....

And that's all I have to say about that....

So then I suppose when you say "Turn her engine on or, she won't move" it is being sexist?

Or when you say "oh my god!" it's blasphemy?

I hope you're getting my point.

Nice way to avoid the question. Do you know the history of the word?

Dude - Please tell me that you're joking.. Please tell me that you're just pulling our leg..

If you can't see the difference between the first word you used and these stupid little phrases, you seriously need to get educated a little more.

Too funny...

Yes. It's what white folks use to call the negro slaves that came from Africa.

:lol

Wow, you really don't know the history of the word other than the time period.

You don't really need to know its exact history to know what it means. The word actually means to blacken, or destroy someone or something. It comse from denigrate.

I am having visions of dejavu over a debate I had a while ago with Tonyi which involved a similarily offensive icon.

You need to know the history because it doesn't mean that anymore. It's been twisted to be a slur among other things.

LOL...what a thread,

I hardly see what's so bad about the word if it's used in the right context. It wasn't directed at any black person I don't think.

its almost like calling someone "gay" these days

although I guess neither are appropriate for the boards

drew signing w/ dodgers is great for us seeming we had no legit shot and hes not on the braves any more. Does any one remember what he did to us last season.

If this is true (Drew's 5/$55 million signing) this is very bad for the sport of baseball.

This is not said as a Marlins fan but rather a baseball fan. DePodesta ought to have his head examined paying that kind of money and committing to half a decade with a guy who's knickname is "DL Drew".

It's insane. This sport needs to take a page out of the NFL book and bring some sanity to it's player spending practices.

I'll drink to that, but you are:

:deadhorse

This is why MLB's economics are so screwy. Dont blame the players, but the execs.
