December 26, 200421 yr Cuba has demanded that the United States take down Christmas lights in front of its mission in Havana's busy sea-side drive because they include a reference to jailed dissidents, the top U.S. diplomat in the country said on Tuesday. The Christmas display includes the number 75, in reference to 75 pro-democracy activists imprisoned 20 months ago for long terms. There is an international campaign to free them. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2004Dec15.html
December 26, 200421 yr When the U.S. refused to take down the lights, the Cuban Government retaliated by putting up a billboard across the street showing atrocities of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison. The U.S mission, not to be outdone, continued the battle by sending out Christmas cards with the number 75 on it. Quite amusing, really. :lol
December 26, 200421 yr Yay, another pointless threat/request by the Cuban government. Somebody also needs to figure out why Castro didn't die years ago from lung cancer, after smoking so many cigars over the years.
December 26, 200421 yr If it was me I'd fly in 10k more lights. Go Santa's Enchanted Forest on their ass.
December 26, 200421 yr Castro has become that cranky old neighbor spouting off random complaints about relatively simple things. Pathetic really, considering he's been like that for well over a decade already.
