December 30, 200421 yr There's no reason to do this deal: Kevin Brown has 1 year left on his deal (2005) and likely that will be it for his career. Javy is unspectacularly average, and the cash doesn't really amount to all that much if we're taking Brown and Vazquez. Not to mention that we'd be giving up two hitters who are irreplaceable for the money (yeah, neither are all stars, but tell me two more capable hitters for $4 mil a year, in this free-agent market place). And if the money really matters that much, we're out from under both (Conine, Encarnacion) contracts after 2005. It makes us less competitive for 2005, and it really ensures we have nothing to look forward to for the future. The only way I trade with the Yankees is if we get Duncan along with Javy, and even then I'm skeptical.
December 30, 200421 yr I dont want Kevin Brown the yankees can keep him. He is old, overrated, and a detroment to the club house. Also if the marlisn can make a deal where they trade Burnett for a young pitcher with high upseide under contract i'd be totally happy. Im tired of hiring burnett bitch. He will not return to us thats almsot a given, I dont want to lose him like we lost pavano for nothing. A prudent front office would attempt to make a deal now or at mid season. People should stop being such homers.
