January 1, 200521 yr I'm a new one to the board, but certainly not as a fan. I've been a marlins fan since '93, and I'm so glad I finally found some people I can talk serious marlins stuff with.... I've caught up with some of the old posts... I know you guys have mentioned this before, but do we really want a 3rd lefty in our rotation (O Perez)... I like AJ, and I certainly want us to lock him up long-term if possible....however, what are our options with trading him? what's left on the trading block besides whiney vazquez? Also, I like encarnacion, but who knows if he'll be healthy (or consistent) enough offensively... As for the free agents, can we even touch Derek Lowe money-wise? What about Esteban Loaiza (get him out of NY, maybe he'll have a resurrection like armando)....

January 1, 200521 yr Welcome to the boards. Loaiza is an interesting name but he is not worth the time and money. Apparently he is asking for a bunch and multi years even with the year he had last year. Lowe is kind of like a right handed Milton in my book. Someone is probably going to way overpay for him. Of those left out there I think Odalis would be the best bet, but you never know we may end up with Hutchinson as our 5th starter come April.

January 1, 200521 yr Loaiza is an interesting name.... He did pitch well in the playoffs.... one of the only guys I felt confident in during the Sox series. He has the potential and I think if we worked with him, we could get a good deal.
