Does anybody else find it ridiculous that we had to wait until approximately 12:30 am before they finally called the game with the Phillies...especially when we have a 1:30 pm start tomorrow?? I understand that it was on 2-1 & the Phillies obviously wanted a chance to complete the game, but enough is enough. Is this a judgment call by the umpires only or do the Phillies have a say? Since they're the home team, I'm guessing they can wait as long as they want, but I just found it stupid to keep our players at the ballpark when they obviously weren't going to get the game in....just not right... Sorry, needed to vent....hopefully this wasn't brought up in another topic...

The Rangers, Padres, Astros, Devil Rays and Orioles also have shown varying levels of interest in Loaiza. The Dodgers were prepared to sign Loaiza to a two-year deal for approximately $9 million before they turned to Derek Lowe. Is this true? If so, I'd gladly shell out $9 mil for a 2 year deal. I think he's got something to prove after the collapse in NYC...

That's the problem with a $20 million payroll...

In my opinion, they want to move Huff for a cheaper option because of arbitration (it could go up to about $4 mil)....in that case, would we be able to pry him away for Bump & Stokes?

I'll all for it, but I'm not sure how we can sign him money-wise....possibly a back-loaded contract. The other problem after that is unloading Enc...we could possibly get a couple of good mid-level prospects for him... Lord knows we need to restock our farm after the splurge in 2003 (I'm not complaining, it was well worth it...)

I agree that he's questionable, but he is greedy. If we guarantee him $750,000 plus incentives for plate appearances, etc... don't you think he'd step up to get the money?

I think Boras was trying to get about 12-14 mil for Lowe, but that's not gonna happen. I know the market's up this year, but look who's going after him, Detroit & possibly LA now. I'll be surprised if he gets more than Pavano did. Saying that, I'd love to have him down here because he could possibly contend for the CY Young again with PPS and our defense....I just don't think we'll be able to sign him...

I like Wayne too, but I don't just want to "settle" for somebody within the organization if there's a good shot at landing Loaiza or Lowe. Lowe's price is outrageous, but we may be able to get a deal for Loaiza. Who knows, get him out of NY, and he may come back to life like Armando did... As for the lefties in the pen, who do we have, Chad Bentz and that's it? What kind of lefties do we have on the farm that are ready?

I don't mind the name change at all. However, I live in Stuart, and it's long drive down to PPS, and an even longer one to the Orange Bowl. That's why I was all for the Don King proposal to put the stadium in West Palm. I just wasn't sure how sincere Don King was about it.....I just wished they explored it a little more instead of just shrugging it off....
