Luis to the All Star Game?

CHICAGO -- Atlanta Braves second baseman Marcus Giles was forced to leave Friday's game against the Chicago Cubs after a violent collision with Mark Prior while trying to field a grounder.

With two outs in the second inning, Prior was running from first on a grounder hit to Giles when the two slammed into each other on the basepath. Prior was called out for interference.

Prior's left knee appeared to hit Giles flush in the face as the Cubs pitcher toppled over Giles, falling on his right shoulder.

After lying on the ground for a couple of minutes, a wobbly Giles walked off the field and was replaced by Mark DeRosa.

Prior grabbed his shoulder after the collision, wincing with pain, but he eventually walked off the field to cheers. Prior stayed in the game, and he didn't seem to be affected. He struck out two of the next three batters he faced.

Prior and Giles were named to the All-Star team this year, a first for both players.

Good job Mark!

I never thought I'd be rooting for players to get injured. I feel so dirty....

When it's a Brave. who cares? :lol

am i the only one that finds it disturdbing that people are rooting for someone to get injured in order for someone else to benefit? if Luis doesnt make it, its not a big deal

we aren't rooting that players get hurt so marlins make it. We are rooting that Braves get hurt cuz they r braves and they suck.

I never want to see a player injured.

But when it's a Brave, I don't mind half as much...

the man put on a Braves jersey, he didnt put on a Nazi uniform.

i saw it, i think you got it confused. it was in the Simon thread, that was pretty bad but this beat it out.

If he gets the call it will be 3 Marlins on the team! I hope Marcus is okay but cant go to the All star game. Luis Deserves it, he is having another Great year. Lets see what happens with Giles.
