HELP!!!

Featured Replies

My computer is way f***ed up. I suppose it has a virus, many of the programs are now not responding at an increasing rate. I was gonna reset the whole system but I lost the CD's that came with it. It's gonna freeze soon. Anyone have any suggestions before it crashes to a point that it can't be fixed......

He's talking about the system restore program that's installed on your PC. It restores your PC to a previous state. No discs required. :thumbup

Here's a thing you could do, scan for spyware and viruses. Make sure it's updated. Scan while disconnected from the internet.

If you want the recovery CDs, try calling the company of your PC. They'll ask you some routine questions. They'll charge in on shipping, and maybe the CDs itself.

You should be able to find a good PC with 2.5 gigahertz, 512 megs of ram, DVD player, cd burner, 40 gig hard drive and etc for around $400.

my dad picked up a few emachines a few months ago.

celeron 330 (2.66 ghz), 80gb hd, 256mb ddr ram, 48x cdrw / 16x dvd, media reader, and some other stuff,

+ a monitor

+ a printer

for $277 total after rebate.

i'm using one right now....and i can honestly say i have no interest in buying a non-bargain computer ever again.

ill build u a top of the line PC for the right price.

AMD 64 3000+

512 ram

60gb HD

128 MB Video Card

New Case

MSI K8T NEO motherboard

fatest CD ROM/CD Burner

i can do all that for u for under 1000.

Speaking of which, I eventually have to start looking for a new laptop soon (finding the money is a whole different question). Does anyone have a good idea on what some of the better bargain laptops are like? And don't sell me on WinME, I'm using that right now and I'd rather have XP (except my laptop only has 128 MB on it. And since it's nearly 4 years old, it's probably useless upgrading the RAM on it).

And if I'm hearing right, I should forego finding a laptop with a floppy drive and just get a USB thumb drive instead, right?
