He's had exactly 2 seasons with a sub 3 era and control that's as reliable as David Ortiz's english is dechiperable. He does have cool facial hair though. And as for Pedro, he's moving to the NL and a much more Pitcher friendly park. I hope you watch him in as high detail this year as last, because he's going to have a Roger Clemens-esque run.

Pedro was basically a good no. 3 starter last year. The difference between Pedro and Roger is...Roger wasnt declinign rapidly when he moved on.

As for Roger not being on the decline, look at his numbers in 2003 and 2002 with the Yankees, please don't tell me he wasn't in decline when he moved to the NL. His fastball has easily lost 6 MPH off it in the last three seasons and his changeup suffers from his lack of velocity. His WHIP is a career high since his rookie season. Opponent Batting Average was .238 this season...career high. His OBA was .301....yes, .301. His K/9 was a low since 94. His Ks per BB was a low since 96. Walks per 9 was a high since 96. His pitches per innings pitch was an all time high.

If you watch the Red Sox as closely as you claim you should know how Pedro responds to being challenged. People are questioning his health, his ability, and whether he's worth 4 years; if you don't think the one thing on his mind above anything else is to shove that up everyone's asses and that he won't work his ass off to do that, then you don't know Pedro very well.

February 5, 200521 yr Both contracts were kinda absurd, at least Pedro's is for four years though...15 million a season for five years for a guy that has a career OPS less than 900 and that has serious injury concerns and that even if he does remain healthy probably will be playing at 80 percent... Especially when they only had to compete against the Mets and especially considering that I didn't even hear that the Mets even gave him an offer...I could be wrong about that, but I had heard the Tigers had made him offered then Maggs countered and now he signed for this, I didn't hear any detail outside of the 'Mets are in it.' He had two injuries last year I think, the second one was related to his knee but if he reinjures his first injury then they can't void the contract.
