February 6, 200521 yr I'm happy a thread like this got started. Some of you guys probably won't believe me, but in 2003 I made a $100 bet on the Marlins to win the World Series at 400-1 odds. I made the bet when they were wll under .500, but Willis had been brought up and although I still thought it was a long shot, I couldn't pass at those odds. Anyways, it was a nice pickup! This year I was able to find them at 45-1. I already made a bet on them to win the world series again. The odds listed in the first post are most likely vegas odds, you can find better if you do some searching at sportsbooks on the internet. 678507 You did your bet online? Because I am thinking of doing that too
February 6, 200521 yr wha?!?!? the marlins have delgado, lowell, leiter, alfonseca, cabrera, willis, beckett, and aj. we should be the leaders. the yankees just TRY to by the championship. 678359 Why shouldnt the yankees be favorites? They added an 18 game winner, a 15 game winner and Randy Johnson
February 6, 200521 yr speaking of odds, has anyone found what our over under for wins is supposed to be? That would be a nice bet
February 6, 200521 yr Are these handicapped numbers or just where the money is? If the latter, then is anyone surprised the Cubs are 4 to 1? Cubs fans are loyal. Surprise, surprise.
February 6, 200521 yr Has anyone found a site where the marlins are currently 20-1 or higher to win the series?
February 6, 200521 yr At www.betwwts.com they are still 45-1. At www.totesport.com they are 50-1. www.betroyal.com has them at 25-1. www.5dimes.com has them at 24-1. Get your money in kids!
February 6, 200521 yr and you have bet these online? I am def going to bet the 45-1 or the 50-1. I might bet them to win the nl which is probably 25-1 on those sites.
February 6, 200521 yr Yeah I put a bet in at 45-1 and 50-1. At www.totesport.com the max bet was only 75 pounds (it's a uk site) so I had to bet more at 45-1 at www.betwwts.com.
February 6, 200521 yr 75 pounds is still alot, more than 130 dollars I will bet those today. Thanks for the news. on that 45-1 site I found 20-1 for NL. I might bet 50 pounds on the 50-1 site and then 40 dollars on 20-1 to win the nl
February 6, 200521 yr http://www.vegas.com/gaming/futures/worldseries.html MLB 2005 World Series Updated February 1, 2005 Team Current New York Yankees 8/5 Oakland Athletics 30/1 Arizona Diamondbacks 30/1 Atlanta Braves 20/1 San Francisco Giants 12/1 St. Louis Cardinals 8/1 Anaheim Angels 8/1 Boston Red Sox 6/1 Houston Astros 40/1 Los Angeles Dodgers 30/1 Seattle Mariners 30/1 Minnesota Twins 15/1 New York Mets 8/1 Philadelphia Phillies 25/1 Chicago White Sox 25/1 Chicago Cubs 4/1 Cincinnati Reds 70/1 Toronto Blue Jays 200/1 Cleveland Indians 35/1 Texas Rangers 35/1 Florida Marlins 17/1 San Diego Padres 15/1 Washington Nationals 300/1 Colorado Rockies 150/1 Baltimore Orioles 50/1 Pittsburgh Pirates 200/1 Kansas City Royals 400/1 Detroit Tigers 75/1 Milwaukee Brewers 300/1 Tampa Bay Devil Rays 175/1 Nine teams have better odds than the Fish... Yankees, Red Sox, Twins, Angels, Mets (wha?!?), Giants, Cardinals, Padres and Cubs. I think the odds makers are seriously overestimating the Cubs, Mets and Padres. The Cubs haven't done jack this offseason... and they lost two of their top three hitters. The Mets can't seriously be the favorites in the NL East. And Padres? I don't have any gripes with the rest of the list, though. 678353 Remember what odds are. They just feed off of what people think. People believe the cubs will win so they are 4 to 1 even if they are the worst team ever to play. Its like point spreads, just trying to get the same number of people on both sides.
February 6, 200521 yr I haven't found an over/under on team wins. www.thegreek.com usually has them out first...hopefully soon.
