I figured since it's the 10th anniversary, I might as well do this.

On March 19th, this site will celebrate it's 10th anniversary. 10 years ago, the site was not exactly filled with information or was as popular. On March 19th, 1993 I opened a Marlins page on my personal web account. It was one single page of pictures and links - that's it. The site started to become an everyday source for Marlins info in 1995. It was 1998 when I purchased a domain name - MarlinBaseball.com and later on MarlinsBaseball.com.

Over time, we have had numerous designs for the site, and numerous forum locations. It's been a wild ride so far to say the least.

Now, to address the recent chat room issues before moving on. I received some negative feedback at first when I said I would not buy a chat room for the site because of it's expense. A few people, who I will not name felt that I was being a tad cheap and that I was not using the money donated to me correctly. I will be honest, I was considering buying the chat room a few weeks ago but I just couldn't do it. These comments changed my way of thinking and I bought the chat room which would've added to my already extreme losses over the years. Nobody came to the chats, even though they were highly publicized. I also found a very good free alternative last night from the same company. I got a refund for the chat and we can use this new free room from now on. It's a very good room.

Please understand that any and all donations to the Support the Site link are much appreciated. I hate to make these numbers public but over the last 5 years of owning a domain name - I have shelled out about 800 dollars to keep the site going. When you look at the Support the Site link and see 175.00, that's not profit. Taking into consideration prior donations, and that 1 year I had some advertising my gross loss is around 400 dollars which rises monthly. I just wanted everyone to know that.

I always knew I'd lose money doing this site and that's fine with me because it's given me a chance to meet some wonderful people. That's why I continue doing it today and will continue for hopefully a long time.

During the season, MarlinsBaseball.com will be proud to supply the daily previews, boxscores, and recaps you've come to love. Also I will be holding a few different games to enhance everyone's experience.

Remember, everything I do is for all of you. Have a great day and GO FISH!

Admin: I've always told you this and I will say it again. Congrats on the site. Whoever doesn't appreciate everything that you have done shouldn't be here (this goes with whomever thinks that you are using the money for your ownself). It should be considered a privilege that we have this board and it shouldn't be taken for granted.

Keep up the good work....I'll be here if you need me as usual.

If I could, I'd get you that $400 back right away. However, that's just not possible at the moment. But remember everyone, 2 cents a day not only gets you MarlinsBaseball.com, it get Sally Struthers to come over and clean out the leftovers in your fridge. ;)

Great job Admin! Hopefully the suport link will help to defer some of your losses.

later.......

When will you be addressing the media Mr. President? When is the press conference?

The State of the Union Address is held by the President of the United States of America...And in America, we have this wonderful thing called "Freedom of Speech!" :D

Fact or Fiction? :mischief2

freedom of speech is overrated....

that does not truly exist in its purest form anymore.

neither do many of the rights granted in the bill of rights.
