Hakeem Olajuwon a Terrorist?

A mosque founded by former Rockets star Hakeem Olajuwon, who played 17 seasons in Houston, donated more than $80,000 to charities that the U.S. government later said were fronts for terror groups al Qaeda and Hamas, according to the Associated Press.

In an interview with the AP, Olajuwon denied knowing the charities were linked to terrorists when he made the donations. Had he known, he said he would not have contributed, adding that the charities had yet to be accused of any wrongdoing at the time.

"There is no way you can go back in time," Olajuwon said. "After the fact, now they have the list of organizations that are banned by the government."

Olajuwon is not under investigation, according to the AP, which cited unnamed federal law enforcement officials.

Olajuwon's mosque, Islamic Da'Wah Center, gave money to the Islamic African Relief Agency. Ziyad Khaleel, a former fundraiser for the agency, was named in a federal trial in 2001 as the man who bought a satellite telephone that terrorist Osama bin Laden used to plan the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the AP reported.

He's a black Muslim. Might as well just put him in front of a firing squad.

I don't care if it sounds racist or whatever, but you don't just give Islamic organizations money unless you do a background check first.
