Then explain it clearly. The Announcers have nothing to do with the importance of the telecast. Buck will call all Cards games Fox shows since he is their Play-by-play guy.

To answer hte question of why ESPN has lost ratings?

One theory:

Showcasing the same teams over and over again.

Exactly. They will leanr sooner or later, enojy the Marlins on WGN this weekend and don't worry if it's Chip Caray and Steve Stone calling it, because we will get exposure worldwide since WGN is carried all around the world.

WGN reaches more homes worldwide than ESPN does. WGN is part of the military channel lineup since they are based from Chicago and are a popular channel. ESPN cannot go outside North America unless they use an ESPN International Channel, but MLB International does those telecasts.

But if its a military channel only Americans are watching it.

I would hardly qualify that as worldwide.

No it is a military channel, which means many cable companies and satellite providers in Europe, Japan, etc. can pick it up for their services.

Cape, my explanation follows. Hopefully this will clear things up for you on what I am trying to say:

OK heres what I've been trying to say Cape. Most people in this country (there is always the exception) aren't going to watch the Sunday Night game of the Week because Miller and Morgan are announcing it. But once they are watching it, they are affirmed of the games importance by hearing the voices of Miller and Morgan, who are the #1 announcing team. Its not a conscious thing, like I have been trying to say. Its subconscious, people aren't even aware of this affirmation at a conscious level. So if every team got to be under the voices of the #1 announcing teams across the nation once or twice a season, then every team would at least share some importance. People won't be aware of it at first (same that happened in the NFL), but after a few seasons of balanced coverage you'll see more parity established in baseball because this was one of the tools that the NFL used to create the amazing parity they have throughout the league.

ok, now i understand. let me check the espn schedule and see if they second half sunday night sked is out yet. brb
