Despite "no evidence of a plan or danger," a Pleasant Grove Junior High student was suspended Friday for compiling a list of students that officials say he didn't like.

Blaine Edman, the school's principal, said as school and police officials investigatedthe list, "it became obvious that it wasn't students he liked, it was students he had a problem with or didn't like."

The student had titled his list, "Special Friends."

on my folders in school, I would write Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, my bands name and any other name I felt like. I was really bored one day and figured out that lived spelled backwords is devil. So I wrote it backwords and forwards on a piece of paper and gave it to my friend for a laugh. After class we threw it away, and that was that. I can imagine in the world today I would have been suspended, ordered treatment, been put on medication and probably been embarrassed into suicide.

but since that didn't happen, I have a good career, a beautiful wife, 2 great kids and I'm happy.

I really don't think the kid should have been suspended....investigated, yes, but to make it known throughout the school and now obviously everywhere else, this kid is ruined for just being a kid.

Good Lord

I think chefbob said it best. Hell I made lists of icky girls I didn't like in the 2nd grade and I'm leading a perfectly normal life as of now. Whatever

Tell that to the parents of the student in South Miami, who had a list and a notebook of students, one day he takes one kid in the bathroom and gives him a columbian neck tie.

99,999 out of 100,000 times nothing will happen, but are you willing to be the parent of that one.

The kid was probably a moonbat anyway :plain

I think its perfectly smart to investigate it. Something like this is worth investigating because its not normal for someone at that age to compile a list of people he has problems with. Now for writing a word like devil like chefbob said, you shouldn't be even looked into. Society is paranoid now because of Columbine.
