Posted July 19, 200321 yr Should he be in the Hall of Fame? Should he be allowed back in baseball? post your thoughts
July 19, 200321 yr Should be in the Hall... Should be back in baseball... If nobody can give straight out proof he did it, then he shouldn't be held against it. If you couldn't prove a guy murdered someone, you just thought they did, would they be convicted? NO. Even if he did bet, he should be in the Hall of Fame, just not back in back in the game...
July 19, 200321 yr Author i think there is proof he bet on his team and other baseball games i think he should be in the HOF, but not back in baseball
July 19, 200321 yr I think at this point its pointless to let him in baseball. But if he didn't bet, baseball owes him an apology. And all the evidence is circumstanstial anyways. He SHOULD and MUST be in the Hall of Fame.
July 19, 200321 yr And Shoeless Joe Jackson (who I believe is innocent) should be in the Hall as well.
July 22, 200321 yr Well Joe Jackson ruined the sport back then, so he should not be in the HOF, but Rose should be.
July 22, 200321 yr Here's the thing... Managers are elected to the HOF as well as players, right? Pete did his betting while he was a manager...not a player... So ban him from the HOF as a manager (Which he wouldn't make it anyway) but NOT as a player...
July 23, 200321 yr Hall of Fame. No question about it. The best hitter in baseball, not in the hall of fame? It just shows how badly managed and corrupt baseball really is.
