Beltran or Pujols?

Featured Replies

just wanting to get everyones opinion as to whom i should draft with the 2nd overall pick that i have. this is all assuming A-Rod goes first. i have Morneau as a keeper at 1st, and am figuring that by the time my pick comes back around in the 2nd round, people like Thome, Delgado, or Teixeira should be available anyway. the OF pool doesnt seem to be as deep, seeing that Bonds, Manny, Cabrera, Vlad, and the like will all be gone by my pick.

Pujols does have the ability to have a monster year of 45, 120, .330.

Beltran has a chance to give me a 30, 100, .300, 30 SB season.

all your thoughts would really help. thanks.

Pujols

The guy never has injury issues and he doesn't sacrifice batting average for HRs.

I grabbed Pujols first and am trying to get Podsednik later in the draft to take care of SBS, but if you grab Beltran you won't need to try and grab a SB oriented hitter later in the draft and to take up a valuable OF spot, i guess youll have to decide if a huge offensive season from Pujols would be more usefull than a good Offensive season with 30-40 SB... I personally, wanted to stay away from a new player in NY
