Live from Green Bay training camp!

Featured Replies

Well guys here I am sitting in my Cousins living room. I've been at Packers training camp since Saturday. And will be here in camp for another week or 2 until they go to Canton to play Kansas City in the Hall of Fame Game.

And right now its just astonishing at the amount of fans here. There had to have been 8-9 thousand cheeseheads here today at Clark Hinkle Field and the Don Hutson Center. And the new Lambeau Field Atrium.

It was truly a sight to see. There was section of fans on the chain link fences chanting "GO PACK GO! GO PACK GO! GO PACK GO" like it was an actual game. There was a buzz, an aura today. The fans were just everywhere. I couldn't figure it out. It was like nothing I've seen. Everyones eyes were on Linebacker and first overall pick Nick Barnett. And he didn't dissappoint. But this is only camp. And what will matter is when he pads up and straps up for the Vikings game Sept. 7.

Big Eric Crouch fan how is he doing in camp so far? I know the Pack have 4 quality QBs so does Eric had a legit shot to make the team?

How Jevon Walker looking ?Does he have a shot at being starter over Ferguson?

I'm a FSU fan so I always been a fan of Walker.

Eric Crouch left the team today for Personal Reasons. He doesn't quite seem to have a grasp of Shermans Offense yet. Which just forwards my prediction of him being cut even more realistic.

As I have told everyone here at camp, Walker will be starting sooner or later this year if he doesnt win the job by the end of camp. Walker is 6-3 217lbs. runs a 4.2 40yd. dash. Walker is in for a breakout season and is going to be a star in a few years.

The Pack looks crisp and more "organized" and more like a team then they did last year at this time. The extra pre season game against Kansas City will also help us weed out talent and non talent better and help us be more a team. Other then that PreSeason is the "lets not get hurt season".

Favre and the vets reported today and it was a treat to see Favre in the form he was in today. He looked like he was throwing in mid season form. The Fans are still crowding the practice facilities despite the gray skies.

The greatest thing today at Camp was seeing our offensive tackles Mark Tauscher and Chad Clifton.

Both with All Pro level talent back from serious season ending injuries. They held their own quite well today and look in prime football condition.

Hey Pudge do you guys have 12 World Championships? 23 Hall of Famers? The best fans in football? Best stadium in football? Best player ever to play football? Most historic team in football?

Nuff said.

Crouch asked Sherman if he could leave for "Personal Reason".

And Sherman essentially put him on Green Bay's "retired" list.

This morning in a Press Conference Favre made waves, indicating that he wants to stay past this year.

Then he made waves on the Practice Field. Throwing one of his signature bombs like no other QB ever has to Driver. He looks in rare form and should be in for another MVP type season.

The Defense looks great also. Nick Barnett looks to be the right choice for our First Round Pick Last April. The Pack looks very good and an extra pre season game will help the Pack gel even better.

But this still doesn't look like a team that will win a Super Bowl any time soon. :(

They still have an 11-5/12-4 appearance.

The best part of the day today was when one of those obnoxious and rude Bears fan came dressed in his pathetic Blue and Orange. He went up next to Sherman on the other side of the fence and started talking smack to him. Sherman said from what I could here was...

"The hell with you. Get your a** outta my practice!" :D :lol

Sherman is always great with the fans! :p

Today the highlight of the day was without question Josh Bidwell punting to the Offensive and Defensive Linemen for an hour extra curfew.

Coach Sherman is the best in the league when it comes to team chemistry and having fun. And today was no exception. The other day he whipped out a water gun and blasted Na'il Diggs and the war broke out on the practice field with gatorade bottles, water bottles, and super soakers that were stored in trunks labeled "Extra Gear".

Today though it was Friday, the day where the Offense and Defense fought for extra curfew. One hour to be exact.

Rules were every Offensive and Defensive Linemen got 1 chance to field a punt from Packers punter Josh Bidwell. Not a single linemen for either side caught a punt, but of course with ONE PERSON left Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (my favorite player) caught the punt and the defense won the extra curfew hour. :D

But on serious business, Javon Walker looked like Jerry Rice out there today. And if Driver, Ferguson and Walker play in the regular season like they have in camp they will get Favre 4000 yds passing easily. This trio has been fantastic. The play of the day for the offense had to be when Favre threw a bomb (naturally) and Walker was running straight parallel to the sideline about 3 feet inbounds and didn't even look and just stuck his hands over his shoulder and caught the ball in mid-sprint and used his olympic class speed and size to blaze past the likes of Mike McKenzie and Darren Sharper.

Ferguson made a great catch today on a 10 yard out to the right side as Favre again throws a perfect dead on pass and Ferguson tippie toes it to stay in bounds as he is falling out of bounds making the catch.

Driver, well he was Driver. Making some spectacular catches over the middle and taking serious hits from Diggs, Barnett, Harris, McKenzie and Sharper.

If Franks plays this year like he has in camp, he'll have a 10 TD, 50 cth., 600 yd. season without breaking a sweat.

Ahman Green looks as if he will run for 1,400 yds this year if he stays healthy.

The offensive line has become an impenetrable force with Tauscher and Clifton back on the line.

Defensively, Kenny Peterson should join Hunt as the starter at DT. That way when the Pack re-signs Gilbert Brown, Gilbert only has to play the running downs and not get wore down and Peterson can rush the passer with Hunt effectively up the middle. Hunt, Peterson, and LB Nick Barnett look excellent stopping the run up the middle. Diggs and Navies were great in association with Gbaja Biamila and Johnson stopping the rush to the sides and containment. Marques Anderson also did great stopping the run and even INT'd one of Favres signature bullets.

Coverage wise, Diggs, Barnett, and Navies can cover the pass and run. They look great. The Packers are showing why they are in the class of Miami, Tampa, and Philadelphia in Pass Defense. Sharper and McKenzie are playing like the All Pros they are. And Harris and Anderson look very good right now also.

My only worry is Gilbert Brown. If they don't re-sign him as a pure run stopper, the Pack is in trouble this year.

Special Teams, Longwell and Bidwell are great at Kicker and Punter respectively. Rob Davis is one of the 5 best Long Snappers in the game having NO BOTCHED SNAPS in his career of 7 years. Thats IMPRESSIVE. But Kick and Punt Returns still look very questionable and should be the main weakness for the Cheese Men this year. Kick and Punt coverage is perfectly described as "average", no more, no less. Its average. Its good at times. And its bad at times. But normally they cover average. Kick Coverage is the worst of the 2 though and could be a potential problem this year. Punt Coverage though looks pretty good, but then can stink up a punt or 2. So the Kick and Punt Coverages are best described as "AVERAGE", no more, no less.
