April 29, 200521 yr Playing a double-header on Aug. 8 isn't a great solution either. This was one of only 2 rest days in August. The end of the season is going to be just like last year with no rest days. I believe this will give us 22 games in 21 days. Ugh. We have 4 rest days in May, so it would have been much better to go May 5, even if they had to fly from Atlanta. It is an afternoon game so they would get out early nonetheless.
April 29, 200521 yr living here in Denver I can say that they could have played today, it never snowe and there was only light, light rain. Considering i spent $200 on 2 seats 2 rows behind the Marlins dugout for all 3 games Im totally dissapointed, but i guess on the bright side Travis Smith didnt have to start! Dont get me wrong, it was freezing today, but they could have played. 757470 it snowed a good amount in Denver today. I live about 10 minutes from Coors field and it snowed for a good 3 hours straight. The reason they called the games wasn't because it was horrible at game time but the forecast had the storm hanging around all day, which it did. Hope you got to go to the first (and only) game. I took my kid and had a blast. If only there were pictures....... Beckett getting started in Game 1 on Tuesday JB vs. PW (Preston roped a double) The snow that killed my trip to Coors today
April 29, 200521 yr May 5th and August 8th are the only common offdays left. May 5th is fair to both teams since they'd both have to fly to Miami the next day. August 8th would have the Marlins flying from Cincinnati to Denver to Miami. 757286 Yes, but it would also involve the Marlins flying from Atlanta to Colorado to Miami. I don't think the Marlins would be willing to head back to Colorado. What're the chances of doing a double header in Miami, and making up the one game in Colorado at the end of the schedule (if necessary, of course)? 757303 Only the Marlins suffer by delaying the series until August. Oh well. Hope for the best.

By August, Helton and Wilson could be playing elsewhere meaning we could face the National League equivalent of the Royals.
April 29, 200521 yr And by August, one of our guys might fall to injury. Who knows. A May 5th doubleheader would have Marlins coming from Atlanta, Rockies from Arizona and BOTH heading to Miami. Instead the Marlins flying half way across the country twice, and the Rockies just once for a doubleheader on the 8th. Both teams would share the effects on their pitching staffs while playing the next three nights against eachother.
April 29, 200521 yr cool pictures, thats me two rows right above Preston, Im the bald guy in the white Marlins jersey!
