fauowls44
I just called the Rockies ticket office and they said that both games were cancelled today. Now what do I do until the Heat game comes on???
Lefty
I took the call from Colorado and you guys know i work for a sports company that deals with this stuff. 757223 I get it, but I don't understand how they could call off the game so far in advance. They 'always' wait until at least the time of the start of the game, and usually a little while afterward. I don't see how they could postpone both games, especially when they know the consequences. It may be called, but not yet. edit*Ok so two sources have confirmed the cancellation--which leads me to believe that the umps are grumpy and tired and don't feel like waiting. This is bizarre.... Maxx
Maybe they are expecting bad weather that may affect travel plans so they decided to call it early.
Lefty
I've never seen a game cancelled an hour before the start, except for the hurricanes last year.
Guest FishFanInPA
Yeah, this is good news so the Marlins can make here to Philly in good time for tomorrow.
FreshFish
I guess they don't want the team to be stranded in CO due to bad weather?
RossInfoMan
I believe cancelling a game is not up to the umpires if it is before the game is supposed to start. Usually what it means is that they know that bad weather is on the way and they wouldnt be able to get it in, and with this being a travel day, they cant wait around. This is bizarre.... 757232 They probably called it off now because they know there is no chance of finishing the games and it is very cold. No use risking injury to any of the players attempting to get what may have been just a few innings in.
FreshFish
this sucks. I don't like having two days behind on games schedules
PhxPhin
yep .. even ESPN is showing the double header cancelled with no make up dates scheduled i was hoping for something to listen to at work today .... kind of a downer but if it leaves them in better shape for the divisional games, then it's all good
Flamarlins3
On the bright side we can now skip Moehler in the rotation so I would think Beckett could pitch on Sunday I think.(Although Moehler has pitched well)
JetsMania
Philly will now have to deal with Burnett, Dontrell and Beckett

Flying_Mollusk
While it sucks that we have no baseball for today, there are a couple of bright spots. Pitching staffs can come out of Coors totally warped. If these games end up being played in Florida, we get a bigger advantage and our staff isnt shell shocked.
