Tough Loss.

Our bats looked so alive, I was proud of the offense today, although we lost, our guys just kept fighting back, great game, Marlins get my thumbs up anyway for this one, great game!

Once in a while our pitchers will have problems like today. It was nice to see them not give up and try to come back :thumbup

Beckett won't have those type of games everytime out, the Phillies won't have Tomas Perez starting over Jim Thome, somehow today was just destiny. Our team is in great shape, although I am getting quite frustrated with Mike Lowell, I know he as a veteran will come around.

I am kinda getting worried about Mikey. It seems like his first AB is always a hit and then after that its downhill. I really dont want to bench him but I think it will probably be better for him to take a day or two off. Kinda clear his mind :confused

at what point does Mike become a liability to the team offensively? HE continues to struggle when we have runners on base. He has gotten 1 hit in a few games but most of them are without runners on base. I love Mike Lowell but this year he has really dissapointed and I he does not show any signs of improving.

yea, hey who knows maybe we'll see Damian Easley in for mikey at third. He'll be fine though, I can't see such a productive hitter in Mike Lowell go into a slump for so long, he is just too good. Atleast it hasn't affected his defense, Mikey will be back in no time!

maybe am too much of a Lowell fan, but he is pure talent, the veteran thrid basemen will be back to his old self.

The only thing that killed me was Lowell's two at bats late in the game, and Delgado's AB when he got the sac fly. If at any of those times we manage one hit, I think the thing goes to extras.

 

But, as a team, it was good to see us not give up at all...

There were many things that could have happened to tie the game that players other than Lowell did not do.

This is just a sign of better things to come, we got together what we needed, like I said before Beckett won't come out getting hit like he did today, glory days lie ahead, there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Mikey will come around, and when he does, the Marlins will be what we expected.

I don't think you're normally going to see Beckett give up 5 runs in one inning, so I think we're okay there. The bats did come through today, but so did the Phillies bats so you give it up to them there.

 

 

All in all, I think we are alright and think these games are going to be few and far between. We're alright :thumbup

If you can have such a thing as a good loss, this was it. We made a early blowout a near win, and we looked good for continued stretches. Hopefully this offense keeps up in Atlanta versus Hampton and Hudson.

Great to see everyone sp upbeat. I was expecting to come here and find 3 threads on how we can improve the team.... Can't win em all. The Marlins are playing great right now.

 

As for Mikey, I don't know what to think. I want to see him in there every day to give him a chance to get out of this funk he's in, but at the same time it might be a good opportunity to give Niner some at bats. Play Cabs at 3rd for a couple of days and let Mikey clear his head.

That's the odd part. He's hit in all those games recently, but it's always 1 for 4, or 1 for 5.....
