Florida Sports News is only during the Basketball season now since Sunshine has no major sports during the summer.

Fox Sports Net used to have the Nightly Florida Sports Report, which was good, but it was cancelled.

I usually take BBTN as my baseball source.

You've never seen "Florida Sports News" on Sunshine Network?

It's on every week night at 10 PM I believe...

Honestly, I didnt even know that was still on the air, but I dont really consider that a local show since it is more heavily focused on the northern part of the state like the Gators, Seminoles, Magic, Lightning. Plus, I dont like any of the hosts on that show.

edit:Thanks Cape for the clarification, I knew I hadnt seen it in a while.

What does everyone here think of their local news sports coverage? I know that, off the top of my head, Miami's local NBC and ABC news stations have allotted sports shows, although it's mostly football talk.

How about everyone else? (including Miami people)

I wish we had a regional or local south florida sports show.

Miccosukee Sports Wrap is on FSN Weekly, but they aren't very Marlins friendly. The Tribe buys time on FSN, and Kim Bokamper's Production Company produces it.

They have local coverage now?

Fooled me...

NBC 6 does an adequate job, I especially like when Joe Rose is on sports final since he has supported the Marlins more than anyone else on tv. Channel 10 doesnt seem to know anything about the Marlins, guys like Cefalo and Mandich only know football. Channel 4, I dont even watch the sports anymore, they are always negative about the Marlins, especially that big dork Bokamper. Channel 7, well at least they have been leading off Sports Extra with Marlins coverage, but its usually for about 30 seconds, then they talk about football for like 20 minutes. But, what are you going to do, this will always be a football town.

WBBH (NBC) and WZVN (ABC) here in Fort Myers are both owned by the same company and have no sports shows other than the sportscasts in the newscasts which do not cover the teams other than to show one highlight of a big play, then the scoreboard.

WINK (CBS) shows some more highlights, but shows the scoreboard as well.

WFTX (FOX) tries to air the Florida teams as much as they can and they have a 10 minute sportscast in their only newscast at 10pm from 10:50 to 11:00. They have lots of higlights and show very little scoreboards.

I wish FSN would bring back the Nightly Florida Sports Report.

In Miami WTVJ has the best coverage cause they have rights to Marlins clips before anyone else. (PAX35 is operated by WTVJ/NBC6 and FSN Florida is owned in part by NBC)

I agree - and I find it quite ironic that Channel 4 (CBS-4 here in Miami for those of you that don't live here) has a nice little "We Support the Marlins" video clip that is shown at PPS before every Marlins' game. They say something along the lines of, "Let's show South Florida that this year, the teal is for real," and claim to be true Marlins' fans.

Channel 4/WFOR/CBS is two faced in everything they do. They should be kicked off the air and made to return the Dolphins to NBC6.

BTW, WB6 here in Fort Myers is our new Dolphins station for the preseaon, YES! Finally we get the games live!

On the radio, WJNA has the best Marlins coverage. They air the games and have a big signal. They just added Greg Budell (formerly of 101.5 Lite FM) in the morning, and he is a big Marlins fan and is always giving Marlins news and scores
