May 18, 200521 yr Jon Garland became the Majors' first eight-game winner, tossing seven solid innings in beating the Rangers. Garland, who pitched out of a key jam in the sixth, was backed by an offense led by A.J. Pierzynski's two-run homer. Congrats.
May 18, 200521 yr The avatar says it all. Judy Garland is gone forever, and a new, mean Jon Garland has arrived on the scene, and it's a beautiful thing. Him and Buehrle have been horses this year.
May 18, 200521 yr Forget Garland.. how about Hawkeye alum Wes Obermueller! 775973 The Brew Crew announcer, who is usually awesome, jinxed that bad boy when he said "call your friends" and then the PG was broken up 2 pitches later. Too bad....I find myself kinda liking the Brew Crew these days. They could realisitically finish 2nd in that bad bad division.
May 18, 200521 yr And the D-Train won't get his 8th win today...So Garland will now be all alone with 8 wins, and the best record in the majors.
May 22, 200521 yr The Brew Crew announcer, who is usually awesome, jinxed that bad boy when he said "call your friends" and then the PG was broken up 2 pitches later. I thought you didn't believe in the jinx?

I thought you didn't believe in the jinx? 780024 I don't believe in the power of us commonfolks jinxing it. But the announcers sure can on a no hitter, I've seen it happen in that regard too many times (including yesterday in the Cubs/Sox game).
