The number of runners LOB over the past 10 games.

Not hitting when it counts is the entire story of this slumbering offense this year.

(And last year too)

This is how I cant understand why people keep blaming things on the pen. We never even have a comfortable lead to work with in the first place. :mad

They have to do better to knock in a few more of those runs if they hope to win this division. That number just isn't going to cut it.

Were getting hits and runners on base but were not hitting with RISP...

We've outhit the Nationals in the first 2 games of the series 20-15...we outhit them in both games, but yet, we lost.

We need some more home runs, especially from Delgado, because at times like these, those home runs will just automatically give us the runs, and we won't have to worry about hitting with RISP.

We get runners on and then we can't bring them in.

If Delgado would stop striking out in those situations with runners on and would start hitting some 2 or 3 run homers then we wouldn't have such a big problem.

Change that to an 84 after today's game. :plain

PB my good man, the Nats had 5 LOB, we had 12

so make that 79, a 91

Since you're being so pessimistic in pointing out our runners LOB stat in our past games why don't I add in that we have 3 errors in our last 3 games which have really hurt us.

I kept it over 10 games.

Add 12, subtract 7 from 5/26....thus 84

Some teams can't even get runners on base...atleast we can get runners on base.

We don't suck, bandwagoner! :p

Something needs to change to shake the team up.

My vote is not to ditch McKeon, but Robinson.

The LOB stat is misleading. We've had many baserunners from 2-out hits and walks that no one was going to drive in anyway. It's not that we have a problem driving in runs, it's that we aren't setting the table. That means everyone. We need to stop swinging at bad pitches, and get on base anyway possible earlier in innings.

Not really.

Basically the only thing is that were not hitting with RISP.

And MAYBE you can add in Perisho sucking.

The Nationals completed their three-game sweep of the Marlins with a 6-3 win in Washington. Florida left 35 runners on base during the three-game series, the highest such total this season for a team that suffered a three-game sweep.

That gives a real good indication of just how bad it has become.

I can't believe I actually said it, but yesterday after watching us give up yet another game on sloppy play, stranding baserunners and HORRID relief pitching, all I could say as I switched off the tube was "Man, we really SUCK."

I have never said that before about our Marlins - and never thought I would. This is getting ugly. I love our guys, but something has to be done - because this mix just isn't working.
