Posted June 7, 200519 yr Brad Penny signed a three-year extension with the Dodgers that means he'll avoid free agency this off season. There's an option for a fourth year in the deal that could increase it's value to around $32 million, but had he had a nice second half he could have done better on the free agent market. However, he's happy knowing where he's going to be. ''Maybe I would get more, but it's got a lot to do with being happy three years out. You can make more money and be miserable. And the Dodgers are going to win.'' Jun. 7 - 9:11 am et Source: Los Angeles Times Rotoworld.com's Baseball Player Tracker

June 7, 200519 yr I think this draft basically means he's gone after this year. At least we'll get some picks for him.
June 8, 200519 yr He is good friends with Pavano. He will be in pinstripes a few days after the season ends sadly.

June 12, 200519 yr NOOOO!!! I wanted to get Penny back after his contract ended with the Dodgers. I see the Dodgers are clearly enjoying him like I thought they would. He's worth 8 million a year unlike Leiter. He's off to a little bit of a slow start this season, though.
June 13, 200519 yr Damn. I was hoping we'd have a shot to get him back. Let's get the Burnett deal done before the ASB.
