Brad Penny signed a three-year extension with the Dodgers that means he'll avoid free agency this off season.

There's an option for a fourth year in the deal that could increase it's value to around $32 million, but had he had a nice second half he could have done better on the free agent market. However, he's happy knowing where he's going to be. ''Maybe I would get more, but it's got a lot to do with being happy three years out. You can make more money and be miserable. And the Dodgers are going to win.'' Jun. 7 - 9:11 am et

I hope. No reason why Burnett can't sign the same type of deal

3/$22 with an option for $10 mil? Sounds about right to me...

yep, can't get any cheaper than that for a young stud starter

I think this draft basically means he's gone after this year. At least we'll get some picks for him.

He is good friends with Pavano. He will be in pinstripes a few days after the season ends sadly.

Don't forget Sheets

The Marlins could have gotten Vazquez :(

good luck to Penny in a dodger uni...

NOOOO!!!

I wanted to get Penny back after his contract ended with the Dodgers.

I see the Dodgers are clearly enjoying him like I thought they would.

He's worth 8 million a year unlike Leiter.

He's off to a little bit of a slow start this season, though.

Damn. I was hoping we'd have a shot to get him back.

Let's get the Burnett deal done before the ASB.
