June 16, 200521 yr This whole scenario couldn't have come at a worse time. I don't want to see the Nationals pull away with this division.
June 16, 200521 yr hmmmm If Leiter isn't the choice, several Minor Leaguers are in the mix. In Triple-A, Ariel Prieto is 4-2 with a 5.50 ERA, and left-hander Les Walrond is 3-5 with a 5.10 ERA. In Double-A, lefty Scott Olsen, one of the prize prospects for the future, would be in line to pitch Sunday because he threw on Tuesday. Olsen is 5-4 with a 4.05 ERA. Josh Johnson, also at Carolina, is 6-2 with a 2.42 ERA. Personally, If some of these guys have ERA's up around 5's in the minor's they are not going to cut it. For that I would rather start Leiter and take our chances that he can somehow work out of his troubles.
June 16, 200521 yr That balking on Drese is REEEEALLY looking good now. 811937[/snapback] YEa didn't he just pitch a shutout against the Angels in LA?

June 16, 200521 yr yea, but if they get 6 game lead, then ill be pretty hard to get back into it with the way there playing, we need to limit them to a 5 game lead and chip in so we can get bck in it.

I'll take Al over any of our minor league guys as the past two season's experiments with minor league pitching talents has resulted in nothing but disaster.
